Video Of A Construction Worker Dangling From A Crane Wire Has Me Sweating Bullets

How in the world does this happen?

Video has been resurfacing of a crazy incident that happened on a Toronto construction site last year where a worker got his hand tangled in a tagline while securing materials to a crane. The operator didn’t notice that the man was still attached to the wire and began lifting the load upwards with the man in tow.

He reached around 30 stories in the air before someone was able to get the operator’s attention and he immediately began lowering him to the ground, but the worker was left dangling high up in the air for quite a long time.

To make things worse (or better?) the wire was completely wrapped around the man’s wrist which caused it to break, meaning it was excruciatingly painful, but also he wasn’t relying on his grip strength to keep him alive, which almost certainly would have failed.

Onlookers can be heard in the video encouraging the man and saying out loud what we’re all thinking while watching it.

“Oh my God, oh my God, hang on! Just let your hard hat fall bro. Oh my God, how the f*ck did this happen? Holy f*cking Jesus Christ”

Like a scene from a horror and action movie combined.

The man was able to be returned to the ground as safety as possible and almost miraculously only sustained some bruising to his thumb and a broken wrist.

Can you imagine the only thing stopping you from falling to your death is a wire wrapped around a shattered wrist bone? My goodness, this guy is going to have one heck of a story to tell his kids.

While this is obviously out of the ordinary, it just goes to show how dangerous construction work can be.

Let’s make sure this doesn’t happen again, shall we?
