If you are like me, you are counting down the weeks (9 left) until the NFL season returns, and it can’t get here soon enough.
Though we still have a ways to go to watch the official kick off, Netflix is giving football fans something that should hold them over for the time being. The docuseries is called Quarterback, and offers an inside look at the lives of three different NFL quarterbacks.
Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs, Kirk Cousins of the Minnesota Vikings, and Marcus Mariota of the Atlanta Falcons (now with the Eagles) are the focus of this season, which will provide three different perspectives from three very different quarterbacks.
The long awaited series is set to release this week on July 12th, only a couple of days away from now. Even though the wait is almost over, Netflix was kind enough to release the first four minutes of the first episode, and it looks phenomenal.
I might be biased because I’m a Minnesota Vikings fan, since I’m excited to see how Kirk Cousins operates on and off the field. I’m interested to see how fans of teams other than the Vikings, Chiefs, and Falcons consume the series, but I’m thinking that anyone who loves and watches any of the NFL will tune in.
Netflix shared the opening clip on their social media, with the caption:
“It’s almost time for kick off! Watch the first four minutes of Quarterback, our new docu-series following Marcus Mariota, Kirk Cousins, Patrick Mahomes. Premieres this Wednesday.”
Man, I was ready to just keep watching through, Peyton Manning’s commentary had he hooked.
Unfortunately I have to wait a couple of more days, but just like Twitter users who left their thoughts in the comments, I’m more than ready to watch Quarterback.

Anyways, set a reminder to tune in on Wednesday when Quarterback drops on Netflix. Should be a pretty fun time, and should act as a great appetizer for the NFL season (which kicks off in 59 days, for those keeping track).
