Oh man, this one looks good.

Growing up, we all learned about Napoleon Bonaparte in school, the ruthless French commander during the French Revolution.

With that being said, we now have an official movie based on the historic figure coming our way, and a trailer to go along with it.

According to Variety, Napoleon will be directed by Ridley Scott, and is set to premiere on November 22nd.

Joaquin Phoenix will star as Napoleon, and the rest of the cast includes Vanessa Kirby as Empress Joséphine, Tahar Rahim as Paul Barras, Ben Miles as Caulaincourt, Ludivine Sagnier as Theresa Cabarrus, Matthew Needham as Lucien Bonaparte, Youssef Kerkour as Marshal Davout, Phil Cornwell as Sanson ‘The Bourreau,’ Edouard Philipponnat as Tsar Alexander, Paul Rhys as Talleyrand, John Hollingworth as Marshall Ney, Gavin Spokes as Moulins and Mark Bonnar as Jean-Andoche Junot.

The movie’s official description reads as follows:

“‘Napoleon’ is an original and personal look at Napoleon’s origins and his swift, ruthless climb to emperor, viewed through the prism of his addictive and often volatile relationship with his wife and one true love, Joséphine.

The film captures Napoleon’s famous battles, relentless ambition and astounding strategic mind as an extraordinary military leader and war visionary.”

Just by the first look at the trailer, this one looks incredibly intense.

Not to mention Napoleon has a star studded cast to go along with it.
