So cool… but also scary.

These are beasts of animals. They’re named killer for a good reason.

Seeing them approach in a boat with such grace is crazy.

Killer whales or orcas are known far and wide for their unique appearance and their wild hunting abilities. These are massive creatures that actually members of the dolphin family, often hunt in groups to increase their success. These can be up to 23 feet long and weigh as much as 6 tons.

They are highly social and live in groups called pods. They use these groups for survival and social reasons. They have been seen communicating together using noises and clicks.

These whales are highly intelligent and work together well to hunt. On top of their intelligence, they can move at a fair pace of up to 35 miles per hour. This makes them the second fastest marine mammal.

Their speed and grace in the water was captured perfectly in this underwater video of an orca approaching a boat.

Out of the darkness a face of a killer whale appears. It rapidly gets bigger as the creature quickly approaches the boat with ease.

Even just seeing what these animals usually do is amazing.
