Right to the face.
What a situation to be in to have to use bear spray on a wolf… these are absolute beasts of an animal.
Wolves are the largest wild dogs in North America. Gray wolves can weigh up to 175 pounds and can stand up to 3.5 feet at the shoulder.
Wolves are apex predators and are known for their hunting abilities. They are highly skilled hunters and are capable of taking down prey that is much larger than them. Wolves hunt in packs and use their intelligence and teamwork to take down their prey. They have sharp teeth and powerful jaws that allow them to bite through tough hide and bones. Wolves are also very fast runners, capable of reaching speeds of up to 40 miles per hour.
Wolves are carnivorous animals and primarily eat meat. Their diet consists of a variety of prey, including deer, elk, moose, bison and other small mammals. They are also known to eat fish and birds. Wolves are opportunistic hunters and will scavenge if necessary.
Wolves have had a long and complicated relationship with humans throughout history.
In some cultures, wolves are revered and considered sacred animals. In other cultures, they are feared and seen as a threat to humans and livestock. In the past, wolves were hunted to near extinction in many areas of the world. However, in recent years, there has been a growing effort to protect and conserve wolf populations as they have a large benefit to the ecosystems where they live.
Wolves can pose a danger to humans if they feel threatened or if they are habituated to humans. In most cases they will immediately run away upon seeing people.
This wolf didn’t get them memo though and clearly was to comfortable around people. This wildlife officer is seen trying to scare the wolf off who just avoids her.
It circles around and comes to a stop down wind from the officer. She gives her bear spray a shot and you can see the orange mist going through the air, hitting the wolf right in the face. The dog shakes its head and runs off into the woods.
That bear spray will get rid of just about anything.
And let me tell you, there’s a good reason for it… don’t ever get a shot of that to the face.
