Bald Eagle Swoops In And Nearly Snatches Up Someone’s Pet Yorkie

Bald Eagles

These bald eagles are really out for blood out here.

Considering there aren’t very many bald eagles in my home state, I’ve never really heard any stories of the massive birds swooping in, grabbing dogs, cats, squirrels, ducks, etc. with their talons, and flying off with them.

However, it’s become more apparent to me that this actually isn’t all that incredibly rare in certain parts of the country and especially places like Alaska and Canada.

Here is the latest example…

According to For The Win, a Yorkshire terrier named Coco was almost sent into the afterlife, when a bald eagle swept in and attempted to fly off with the poor dog.

The scary incident was all caught on a doorbell camera in Prince Rupert, British Columbia, where you can see a shadow fly over Coco’s head, and an eagle swoops down from the sky to grab her off the porch. You can hear Coco crying during the scary scene.

The eagle runs into a container, clutching onto the poor dog, but Coco won in the end, as you can see her reappear in the footage a few seconds after the eagle tried to fly off with her. Still whining as she sprints back to the house, she was ultimately uninjured.

I imagine she’ll keep her head to the sky going forward…

Coco’s owner, Justin Dudoward, said he didn’t witness the scene in person that occurred last Thursday, but he could hear her crying from outside.

Gotta keep an out there in BC… eagles, coyotes, bears, mountain lions… they’ll get you from the air and from the ground.

Breastfeeding Mom Runs Out Of House Topless To Rescue Goose From Bald Eagle

This may be the most bizarre and incredible example of multitasking I’ve ever seen in my life.

According to Canada’s Chek News, a Canadian woman noticed her pet goose was being attacked by a bald eagle…

While she was breastfeeding her baby.

Cait Oakley, a 31-year-old from the North Saanich area, was at home with her four-month-old daughter during the brave act, and said she had lost three chickens in the last week, more than likely due to hawk attacks.

She witnessed her pet Sebastopol goose named Frankie get swooped up by a bald eagle Wednesday evening, while she was nursing her daughter, wearing only underwear.

The clip shows Frankie honking hysterically at the front door of the house, when out of nowhere, a bald eagle swoops in, locks those talons into Frankie, and attempts to fly off with the goose, when Oakley yells “Hey!” numerous times in the background.

The bald eagle carries Frankie to the driveway, before Oakley runs out of the house in just her underwear, daughter in her arms.

Sure enough, Oakley startles the massive bird enough to drop the pet goose.

Recalling the wild occurrence, Oakley explained:

“I was in the middle of feeding her, so that’s why I didn’t have a shirt on and was getting ready for the evening.

I just run outside and when Mike (her husband) came out he was like, ‘you’re topless.’ And I’m like yeah, no, I’m very aware. Sorry neighbors.”

Due to the constant bird attacks, the family has had to since put up netting on the property to ward off the attacks.

Looking back, Oakley says she’s not surprised by the incident:

“As a mom of three I’m always breastfeeding and it’s so natural, that’s mom life summed up, something is always going on when I’m feeding her and I’m always on the go.”

Super mom.
