Talladega Superspeedway Shares What The Infield Crowd Left Behind In Hilarious Thread: “Not Happy With What I Found”

A tradition unlike any other… Talladega Superspeedway sharing what the infield fans left behind.

This past weekend was Jack Link’s 500 at Talladega Speedway. The race track is one of the most cherished venues in all of NASCAR, and it delivered some iconic moments yet again. Carson Hocevar scored his first career NASCAR Cup Series win there, and there was a big time wreck that knocked out at least 26 cars from the competition.

Here’s a video of that, in case you missed it:

That’s ‘Dega for you.

Though the race itself was exciting, and also allowed for the young phenom – Carson Hocevar – to get his first win, the part I often look forward to every year is… the day after the race at Talladega. Why? Because the Speedway clears out, and the iconic infield reveals itself as a wasteland of the weekend that was.

If you don’t know what I’m talking about, Talladega Superspeedway opens up the infield for the weekend of racing, and NASCAR fans can make it feel like home for a pretty fair price. People pull campers and RVs into the center of the racetrack and have one heck of a time… until they are forced to leave the premises when the weekend’s activities conclude.

But when that happens, the fun on social media gets started, as you can see from this post below:

For some reason, not everything that’s taken into Talladega makes it out. Whether it be the vibes of the race, or the alcohol that’s undoubtedly flowing in the infield, surprising items are always left behind. The speedway then has to deal with disposing it… but they have some fun before they do so.

Without further ado, here’s everything (at least what they could show online) that was left behind in the Talladega infield following the 2026 Jack Links 500:

Heavily Used Towels

Dirty Air Mattress

Tent That Was Way Too Close To A Porta-Pottie

Inflatable Beach Decor

Full On Bar Set Up

Couches (A Talladega Tradition)

3 Jugs of Milk

Foosball Table

Grill & TV Combo

Wheelchair

Ironing Board

Gotta look spiffy when you are at ‘Dega…

It’s a pretty wild collection of items, and most people make the joke that a local fraternity house would be lucky to furnish their place with everything that’s left behind in the infield. Talladega used the last post of the thread to send out a clever congratulations to Carson Hocevar using an item that was somewhat donated to ‘Dega:

“Hats off to Carson’s first NASCAR Cup Series win! Thanks y’all for a crazy time. See ya in the fall!”
