Randy Travis, Aaron Lewis, Charlie Starr & More Added To Lineup For George Jones Tribute Concert

Possum tribute

Sheesh, this oughta be a good one.

You have to love a good ol’ tribute concert, featuring a ton of modern day country stars covering songs from the all-time greats.

It’s the ultimate way to pay homage to those who inspired their careers in the first place.

With that being said, we have a whole George Jones tribute performance coming our way, titled Still Playin’ Possum: Music & Memories of George Jones.

And boy, this one is gonna be a great one, as we have a number of the best country singer/songwriters in the game featured.

The tribute will feature the likes of Brad Paisley, Dierks Bentley, Jamey Johnson, Justin Moore, Lorrie Morgan, Mark Chesnutt, Michael Ray, Sam Moore, Tanya Tucker, Tracy Lawrence, Trace Adkins, Tracy Byrd, Travis Tritt, and Wynonna Judd.

However today, Aaron Lewis, Charlie Starr from Blackberry Smoke, Dillon Carmichael, Gretchen Wilson, Joe Nichols, Randy Travis, and Sara Evans were added to the lineup.

Jones’ widow, Nancy Jones, weighed in on the new project:

“I am so thankful to the loyal fans of Country music. George’s music still lives on and I am so honored that so many of George’s fellow artists and friends have agreed to come to celebrate him.

This special night would not be the same without so many people doing what they do best – from the producers of the show to the artists bringing their voices to the fans buying the tickets.”

The concert is slated for Tuesday, April 25th, at the Propst Arena at VBC in Huntsville, Alabama.

More tickets have been added as a result of the new lineup additions, but you also have an opportunity to purchase a VIP upgrade, which includes dinner with Nancy Jones the night before the show, for $200.

You’re not gonna wanna miss this one, but if you can’t make it to Huntsville, the event will also be filmed for a yet-to-be-announced TV special.

But until then, you’ll catch me spinning this one all day long:
