Miranda Lambert Jokes That She’s “Redneck Enough” To Take Her Heels Off At The Grammys: “They’re Not Fun To Walk In… It’s Miserable”

Miranda Lambert is my kinda girl.

Last night, country music had a very strong showing at the 2023 Grammy Awards, with highlights including Willie Nelson taking home the coveted Best Country Album award for his 97th studio album A Beautiful Time, Ashley McBryde and Carly Pearce taking home the win for Best Country Duo/Group Performance with “Never Wanted To Be That Girl,” and Cody Johnson’s “‘Til You Can’t” getting the win for Best Country Song.

Luke Combs and Kacey Musgraves also performed during the show, and all in all, some really great, true country artists took home some very well-deserved awards.

But one of my favorite parts of Grammys is the pre-show red carpet, mostly because we get to see all the great (and let’s be honest, a lot of not-so great) outfits that the musicians have picked out specially for one of the biggest nights of their career.

And during Miranda’s carpet walk, she stopped to talk to E! News about how she usually does things at these kinds of shows, admitting she brings a pair of flats to put on as soon as she gets off the carpet:

“They’re not fun to walk in, I’ll say that. Yeah, it’s miserable. I bring flats, and like I put on my heels at the last minute and then I take them off…”

She added that it’s great when she gets to sit at a table, because no one can see your feet under it and she’s “redneck enough” to take her shoes off at the Grammys.

I mean, I think we’ve all been to enough weddings or other similar events to know that, as soon as you get the chance to lose the heels, that’s always the first order of business.

She’s true Texas girl through and through… you gotta love it:

“The tables are good because you can hide your feet under if you don’t have your shoes on. I’m redneck enough to take my shoes off at the Grammys!”

You can’t see her shoes in this photo, but she had some high heels on under the dress, that I’m sure did not last long once she got to her table inside the arena:

Miranda and her husband, Brendan, sat with Luke and Nicole Combs during the show, so it’s safe to say I think she was in good company with her fellow nominee:

Miranda was nominated for four awards yesterday, including Best Country Solo Performance for “In His Arms,” Best Country Duo/Group Performance for “Outrunnin’ Your Memory” with Luke, Best Country Song for “If I Was a Cowboy” and Best Country Album for Palomino.
