Some terrible news leading up to the Super Bowl.

According to ABC News, Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Josh Sills has been indicted on rape and kidnapping charges, with the Super Bowl only 10 days away against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Ohio prosecutors say the indictment stems from an incident that occurred on December 5th, 2019, back in Guernsey County, Ohio.

Officials say that the rookie reserve lineman:

“Engaged in sexual activity that was not consensual and held a victim against her will.”

The Guernsey County Sheriff’s Office conducted an investigation, and ultimately a grand jury indicted Sills on one felony count of rape and one felony count of kidnapping this week.

The 25-year-old, who played at both West Virginia and Oklahoma State, is set to appear in court on February 16th, five days after the Super Bowl.

Sills has only played a few snaps for the Eagles this season, with his only appearance coming on October 9th against the Arizona Cardinals.

The Eagles have yet to comment on the situation.
