Mountain Lion Viciously Takes Down Deer At Washington Man’s Front Door

Mountain Lion

Mountain lions are one bad kitty.

And bad in a good way… just absolute beasts. Natural born killers.

Watching them do what they do best is pretty incredible to see. Terrifying, but amazing. They have a one-track mind, with some of the sharpest instincts in the animal kingdom.

Which means it’s a rough world out there for a deer sometimes. As one of the smaller members of their family but are big enough for an excellent couple meals. Not to mention, their not exactly built for fighting back so predators love to hunt them.

In this video from a Newport, Washington, home security camera, the deer never stood a chance. The mountain lion had its choice of three deer, but as the old saying goes, you don’t have to outrun the big cat, you just have to outrun the slowest deer.

The camera captures three deer running and two turn off, the other runs for the camera. You can notice something on its tail. And in a second the mountain lion jumps on it and takes it out very effectively ending up on top of the deer. The lion gains complete control of the situation and gets ahold of the deer right where he wants to.

It’s pretty much over from there, the lion continues to choke it out for a bit the deer doesn’t stand a chance.

Watch out for them woods kitties… not exactly the kind of thing you want pouncing on you at your front door.

Utah Hiker Stalked By Aggressive Mountain Lion

NOPE.

Kyle Burgess was running in Slate Canyon, Utah, when he realized that he was aggressively being tailed by a mountain lion. Quick thinking, he got big, he got loud, and did everything he could to scare the big cat, but she stayed behind him for more than six straight minutes.

She lunged at him with a terrifying false charge each time, but holy hell if that ain’t enough to make me leave the trail with some soiled shorts.

However, according to Kyle, the mother cougar was just protecting her 4 young cubs:

“I found what I thought were bobcats on the trail during a run. Turns out they were cougar cubs and their mother was not happy to see me.

She follows me for over six minutes acting very aggressively while I walk backwards up the trail.”

He eventually threw a rock at it, and it finally turned and ran away.

I don’t know how Kyle wasn’t more freaked out, but props to him for staying cool, calm and collected.

But like I always say, everybody loves nature until they come face to face with it… not for the faint of heart.

Brown Bears Have Vicious Battle Over Whale Carcass Off Coast Of Alaska

I just got back from the lovely state of Montana, and while I didn’t run into any bears while I was there (probably a good thing), you get a first hand account of the vast, incredible, and humbling beauty this country has to offer.

And while Montana is amazing it gets no more vast, incredible and humbling than Alaska.

In this incredible footage at the Katmai Coast of Southern Alaska, we get to watch as two coastal brown bears engage in a vicious fight over a beached whale carcass.

A whale carcass beached on the Alaskan coast prompted several dramatic fights between scavenging bears over the newfound bounty.

The scene was caught on camera at the Katmai coast in southern Alaska, in August 2015, as a massive male attacked a smaller female with a cub at the carcass, briefly gaining the upper hand until a different male attacks, saving the female.

And we have a front row seat.
