Cristiano Ronaldo Smacked A Phone Out Of Young Fan’s Hands After Loss To Everton

Cristiano Ronaldo will go down as one of the most beloved pro soccer players of all time… and when it’s all said and done, maybe even the best.

However, the Manchester United star is in a lot of hot water, and is currently being investigated by police, after he was seen smashing a young man’s phone after his team’s loss on Saturday.

It occurred after Man U lost to Everton 1-0 at Goodison Park, and video footage shows Ronaldo limping to the tunnel, and then smacking something to the ground as he walks to the exit of the arena.

The video was posted to social media, and he’s taking a lot of backlash from fans for the move, and a spokesperson for the Merseyside Police confirmed they were looking into the incident, according to ESPN:

“As players were leaving the pitch at 2:30 PM, it was reported that a boy was assaulted by one of the away team as they left the pitch.

Inquiries are underway and officers are working with Everton Football Club to review CCTV footage and are carrying out extensive witness inquiries to establish if an offense has taken place.”

Ronaldo apologized via social media post, saying:

“It’s never easy to deal with emotions in difficult moments such as the one we are facing. Nevertheless, we always have to be respectful, patient and set the example for all the youngsters who love the beautiful game.”

“I would like to apologize for my outburst and, if possible, I would like to invite this supporter to watch a game at Old Trafford as a sign of fair-play and sportsmanship.”

The police have noted that they are aware of the incident and investigating, along with Man Uunited.
