30 New-ish Country Songs That You Need To Be Listening To Right Now

Kip Moore country music

Nearly two months into 2022, and it is safe to say we are off to a hot start in the country music world.

This year has some pretty big shoes to fill though, with all of the incredible music brought by 2021. New Music Fridays have disappointed so far, but if you’re not keeping up with what is coming out weekly, then it is easy to fall behind and miss out on some great stuff. Hopefully this list helps out with that.

Since our last list back in November, I still have not been able to get enough of Charles Wesley Godwin’s How the Mighty Fall and Read Southall Band’s For the Birds albums, but there have been plenty of other great releases in the last couple of months.

Tony Logue’s album Jericho may even be an early candidate for one of the best albums of the year. Some more of the best artists in the business have put out new music lately, too, including Slade Coulter, Grady Spencer & the Work, Hailey Whitters, Muscadine Bloodline, Morgan Wade, and many more.

Check out this list, including 30 of my favorite songs released over the past couple of months, to see who else you need to be listening to.

“Devil’s Den” – Josh Meloy

“Alone (Live at Red Rocks)” – Trampled by Turtles and Caamp

“Glory of True Love” – Wade Bowen

“Crazy One More Time (Revisited) – Kip Moore

“Everything She Ain’t” – Hailey Whitters

“Hang Me Out To Dry” – Slade Coulter

“Hey Me, Hey Mama” – Sierra Ferrell

This one is a Ray Lamontagne cover, but as she does on every song… Sierra Ferrell kills it.

“Blood” – Kaitlin Butts

“Lauri Darlin’” – Seth Ward

“Jesse” – Charles Wesley Godwin

“Josephine” – Read Southall Band

In Read Southall’s words, “this is a song about murder.”

Nuff said…

“Let You Go” – Kody West

“Shoulda Known Better” – Cade Roth & the Blacksheep

“Lightning Fast” – Corey Kent – ‘21

“Little While” – The Wooks

“John Wayne” – Whiskey Myers

“Miles and Miles of You” – Pat Green

“Never Wanted To Be That Girl (Acoustic Version)” – Carly Pearce and Ashley McBryde

“No Good Reason”- Drayton Farley

“Pine Grove (Madhouse)” – Ian Noe

“Road to Richmond” – Tony Logue

“Grown” – Grady Spencer & the Work

“Run” – Morgan Wade

“Stress Dreams” – Greensky Bluegrass

“This Far” – Erica Ryleigh

“Until I Recoup (Glory 1)” and “I Believe (Glory 2)” – Lost Dog Street Band

The first and last songs on a masterpiece of an album by Benjamin Tod’s Lost Dog Street Band.

“The Devil In Us All (OurVinyl Sessions)” – Kat Hasty

“Long Live Cowgirls” – Cody Johnson & Ian Munsick

“What I Believe” – Rob Mayes

“No Pedal Steel” – Muscadine Bloodline

Muscadine Bloodline’s Dispatch to 16th Ave might be the early frontrunner for album of the year.
