Netflix Drops Trailer For Upcoming ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre’ Sequel

Netflix

Well I wasn’t expecting this….

It’s been almost 50 years since Tobe Hooper shook the world and turned every stomach with the OG Texas Chainsaw Massacre film back in 1974.

Seriously, the movie was one of the most frightening and gory of its time, leaving viewers speechless in horror.

We’ve seen several renditions, prequels, and sequels to the original movie since then, with Leatherface joining the Mount Rushmore (if one could call it that) of horror movie stars like Jason, Michael Myers, and Freddy Krueger.

Now, Netflix is officially ready to join in on the Leatherface chainsaw fun, as they’ve released the official trailer for the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre

And it looks TERRIFYING.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, one of the masterminds behind the latest sequel is Kim Henkel, the co-writer for the original film, along with writer-producer Fede Alvarez, and director David Blue Garcia.

Here’s the set-up:

“After nearly 50 years of hiding, Leatherface returns to terrorize a group of idealistic young friends who accidentally disrupt his carefully shielded world in a remote Texas town.”

Melody (Sarah Yarkin), her teenage sister Lila (Elsie Fisher), and their friends Dante (Jacob Latimore) and Ruth (Nell Hudson), head to the remote town of Harlow, Texas, to start an idealistic new business venture.

But their dream soon turns into a waking nightmare when they accidentally disrupt the home of Leatherface, the deranged serial killer whose blood-soaked legacy continues to haunt the area’s residents… including Sally Hardesty (Olwen Fouéré), the sole survivor of his infamous 1973 massacre who’s hell-bent on seeking revenge.”

Buckle up folks, because Leatherface looks scarier than ever.

I mean, the “cancel you bro” line was pretty cheesy, and remakes generally kind of suck, but this actually looks pretty good. I’ll be watching…
