Jaguars Fans Are Planning To Dress Up As Clowns For The Last Game Of The Season This Sunday

Just a couple weeks ago, the Jacksonville Jaguars gave former head coach Urban Meyer the boot.

After all the controversy he’d faced since arriving in Jacksonville, with a lot of it stemming from the viral video of him grinding with a much younger woman (who was not his wife) at a bar in Ohio (among other things), it was not much of a surprise to anyone who had been following the story in some capacity.

And even with the #1 overall draft pick in Trevor Lawrence at quarterback, the Jags are currently sitting at last place in the AFC South and have an overall record of 2-14. Urban left the team with a record of 2-11, and clearly things haven’t gotten any better in the last couple weeks.

As someone who is also a fan of a big cat team that can never seem to fully get their shit together (Carolina Panthers), I feel for Jaguars fans, and completely understand how frustrating it can be to watch from the outside in, as the people at the top continue to make decisions that are downright stupid.

Or at the very least, it feels that way coming from a person who has never played a down of football in her life. My Panthers had an atrocious 2-14 season back in 2010, and it was ROUGH.

I can’t tell you how many people I saw walking around Bank of America stadium with brown paper bags on their head that year…

But, I digress.

Since Urban’s firing, Jags owner Shad Khan has voiced his continued support for their GM, Trent Baalke. Jags fans have never loved him as a GM, and even though he didn’t hire Urban, they’ve had enough and want him gone.

And although they’ve always loved Shad, according to SB Nation, Jags fans are planning to get his attention and show their displeasure with the state of the team and organization by dressing up as clown’s for Sunday’s game, which they’ve dubbed a “clown party.”

And hundreds, if not thousands, of Jags fans have already changed their profile picture on Twitter to a clown wearing Khan’s signature mustache:

It’s hard to say whether or not the display will be enough to catch his attention, or if any changes will actually come from it, but seeing a stadium full of clowns will be endlessly entertaining (and potentially terrifying) nonetheless.

The Jags are taking on the 9-7 Indianapolis Colts this Sunday, and I will be tuning in for the sole reason of seeing how many clowns end up at TIAA Bank Field.

And if you don’t have a clown costume, you could always just dress up as Urban Meyer…
