The Limestone Kid didn’t cover the GOAT, did he?

Anybody who plays country music has been inspired by George Strait’s career in some form or another. Plain and simple.

And that includes Parker McCollum.

In a new ’90s country Spotify exclusive, McCollum covered one of George’s greatest hits, “Carrying Your Love with Me.”

The rising superstar had a lot to say about the opportunity to play Strait’s 1997 hit:

“George Strait has been my favorite country singer my whole life. I wasn’t going to pass on the chance from Spotify to cover one of his songs.

This song is such a classic staple in country music so I was really hoping we could get it right and do the song justice. I think we did. I sure hope he and (producer) Tony Brown would think so too if they heard it.”

Parker also recently had the opportunity to sing the song to another country legend: Randy Travis.

You gotta love it.

New country superstars shaking hands with some of the best to ever do it.
