Mae Estes Is Back With A Female’s Perspective Of Daryle Singletary’s “I Let Her Lie”

Man I miss Daryle Singletary.

Easily one of the most underrated voices in country music, and his music has that classic country sound that I just can’t get enough of. And “I Let Her Lie” is one of my favorites (also a go-to karaoke song of mine, but that’s beside the point).

You may remember Nashville singer Mae Estes for her cover of Blake Shelton’s Austin from the female perspective.

And now she’s back paying tribute to Daryle Singletary with a “female flip” of what she calls one of her favorite songs of all time with “I Let Her Lie.”

“One teary night I confessed my sins
And I vowed to never cheat again
But I told a lie
You let me lie

Lord, I tried but I could not change
We know exactly who’s to blame
Cause I told a lie
But you let me lie”

Mae has several other covers of classic country songs from the female perspective on her YouTube page, including “She’s Not the Cheatin’ Kind” by Brooks & Dunn, and my personal favorite, “Moon Over Georgia” by Shenandoah.

And if you’re into her covers, Mae also has some pretty good originals on her channel, including the sassy “Roses” that’s received high praise from Grady Smith.
