Miley Cyrus Delivers Knockout Performance Of Dolly Partons’ “Light Of A Clear Blue Morning” On SNL Ahead of Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all the awesome mama’s out there. We wouldn’t be much without y’all.

And, in honor of the holiday, Miley Cyrus did a knockout version of her godmother Dolly Parton’s 1977 song “Light of a Clear Blue Morning” for the cold open of SNL last night. She payed tribute to her own mom, Tish Cyrus, and also her godmother, Dolly.

The song was originally included on Dolly’s album New Harvest…First Gathering, and peaked at #11 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart.

Before the song, Miley dedicated the performance to mom’s everywhere:

“Tomorrow is Mother’s Day, and this is for all the moms out there.”

After her first song as the musical guest on SNL, in lieu of their usual opening sketch, the rest of the cast had their own moment to thank their mom’s on the show. Miley also included a rendition of her song “Without You” and “Plastic Hearts,” before tossing to host Elon Musk.

Say what you want about Miley, but damn the girl has a great voice and I could listen to her cover Dolly all day long:
