If you’re not familiar with cinema scene in Eastern Kentucky, Laid Back Makes A Deal might just be the most exemplary piece of work to ever come out of the holler.
The great Tyler Childers stars a Shadrick “Shady” Boggs,” a smooth talking, Rolex wearing, diamond ring wearing, kiss stealing, wheeling dealing, limousine riding, jet flying, son of a gun… well sorta. Ok, not really at all, but he’s well on his way.
Here’s a quick synopsis the the film and yes, I watched the entire hour of this… it’s gold.
“Laid Back meets Shady Boggs and is seduced by his power and charm (and connection to Del Reeves). He hastily signs with Hickman Holler.”
And according to Tyler, the whole thing was a lot harder than it looked:
“Last Christmas Eve the gang got together and filmed a lil thing. It was the funnest Christmas Eve ever. Thanks to all the hard work everybody put in to this. Don’t think it looked like hard work? You try to get a drag queen to take a hike through the woods.”
