Iowa Legend Raises Over $750,000 For Charity With Busch Light Sign, Gets His Own Can

As Babe Ruth once fictitiously said to Benny the Jet Rodriguez in The Sandlot: “Heroes get remembered, but legends never die.”

And, according to Busch Light, Carson King is officially an Iowa Legend.

What began as a funny sign for one Iowa State fan to bring to College GameDay, has turned into a viral giving campaign that’s closing in on a million dollars for The University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital in Iowa City.

You can read the full story here, but long story short, Carson King held up this beer money sign with his Venmo information, got on TV and the cash started rolling in.

When his account grew deep into the thousands, Carson decided to amp up the campaign and donate it all to charity. With Busch Light and Venmo both agreeing to match whatever Carson can raise by the end of the month, he now sits at over $250,000 for a total contribution over $750,000.

As a token of their gratitude, Busch Light is giving Carson a year supply of beer, but they went even further, forever immortalizing him on the face of his very own “Iowa Legend” can.

If a kid from small town Iowa ever had a dream, this is probably it.

The campaign runs through the end of September, so get the Venmo out and help the kids. Then have a Busch Light, you deserve it.
