July is officially here and Applebee’s is kicking it off like they kick off every month… by getting their patrons incredibly drunk.
For the entire month of July, they’ll be slinging $1 Malibu Bahama Mama’s. If you’re not familiar, we’re basically looking at a beachy combination some coconut rum with a splash of different fruit juices.
“Malibu Coconut Rum is unquestionably a fan favorite, so we’ve added this premium liquor to our ever-popular Neighborhood Drink of the Month,” said Patrick Kirk, vice president of beverage innovation at Applebee’s. “If you’re looking for a new cocktail to cheers to summer with, the Malibu DOLLARMAMA has you covered.”
Interesting take Pat… I wouldn’t have taken the Applebee’s crowd for big rum group but then again, all the suburban dads rocking New Balance sneakers and their signature Hawaiian dad shirts are just looking for anything that’ll remind them of the Caribbean vacation that they can’t afford anymore. Bringing the taste of the islands right into the local neighborhood bar and grill, and all for a measly buck, you gotta love it. Hit me with that surf and turf combo for $14.99, skip the dessert, and give me 15 of those DollarMama’s, suddenly we’re talking about one helluva night on the town for about $30 bucks. What steal.
