The Jonas Brothers Totally Ripped Off “Smoke” By A Thousand Horses With Their New Song “Cool”

I mean, come on.

The Jonas Brothers just released their new song, “Cool,” on April 5th, but if it sounds like you’ve heard it before, that’s because the chorus sounds exactly the same as “Smoke” by A Thousand Horses.

Don’t take my word for it – listen for yourself.

Here’s “Smoke” by A Thousand Horses, which was released in 2015.

And here’s “Cool.”

(Warning: It’s not good, and I only recommend that you listen to it once – for science).

THEY’RE EXACTLY THE SAME! The Jonas Brothers clearly ripped off A Thousand Horses with this one. It’s not even subtle.

But the melody isn’t the only thing lacking in creativity with this one. “I’m feeling so cool, top to the bottom, just cool.” What the hell? Six songwriters and this is the best you can come up with? Don’t ever tell me that country music isn’t very original when this is the kind of shit that pop music is putting out.

Now, the Jonas Brothers are signed to Republic Records, and A Thousand Horses released their song on what was then Republic Nashville, so maybe this is a situation where a deal was worked out for the Jonas Brothers to sample the original song or something. I don’t know.

But even if that’s the case, you’d think they would have at least given A Thousand Horses some credit. Because “Cool” is clearly their song – the Jonas Brothers just ripped it off… and made it worse.
