On the latest episode of “The Internet is Trying To Bring Down Ella Langley,” keyboard warriors and pop stans are going after the country music star – and trying to bring her down – because she has deer hunted in the past.
There’s just something about people not liking to see people have success. Some people call it the “crab bucket mentality,” meaning that if a crab is reaching higher than others in a bucket, the other crabs at the bottom will pull them back down. That’s exactly what’s happening to Ella Langley as everyone is inexplicably trying to find a way to end her dominate run. She’s repeatedly been called an “industry plant” by the ignorant masses, even though Whiskey Riff has covered her music since 2018… WAY before she was a part of any “industry.” That phrase has become the new “sell out,” lazily lobbed anyone who achieves massive mainstream success.
Simply put, Langley and her hit song, “Choosin’ Texas,” is inescapable at this point. She released it back in October of last year, and once it caught fire in 2026 (and began collecting “Ella Fellas” from every corner of the world), it has stayed ablaze. It’s not even a stretch to call it one of the biggest country hits of all time.
“Choosin’ Texas” currently holds the record for longest-running No. 1 hit by a female artist this century. Ella’s catchy tune has stayed atop the Billboard Hot 100 for a staggering 22 straight weeks, and is showing no signs of slowing down (it’ll likely surpass Mariah Carey’s historic record next week). And as the song gets played more and more, it keeps managing to bring Ella Langley into the headlines.
Fans of pop music are having a real problem with her historic run on the charts, and that’s who seems to really be driving this push to “cancel” or “smear” Ella Langley. Their latest effort is to sow outrage among the “animal rights” crowd by sharing old hunting photos that the “Be Her” singer posted.
Surprise, surprise… the artist from Hope Hull, Alabama, likes to get into the woods and hunt deer. You mean a country music singer enjoys hunting? Of course, only the most ignorant and delusional people on Earth don’t understand that hunting is a very common practice all over the United States, and all over the world, really. Especially in rural areas.
And yet, these morons on the internet are tagging PETA and calling Langley “disgusting” for “killing innocent animals.”
There’s even accounts online comparing her to Mariah Carey as Langley is set to surpass Carey’s record next week:

On the contrary, it’s very acceptable… it’s estimated that there are around 10 to 11 million deer hunters in the United States.
For some reason, Langley haters are choosin’ outrage, and it’s genuinely sad and reeks of desperation. It’s just so completely absurd and ignorant, and frankly…. just stupid. These are just dumb people infecting the internet with their stupidity. But thankfully, the internet isn’t real life, and Ella Langley’s incredible run towards music history won’t be stopped by this nonsense.
She’s a certified superstar, and she isn’t going anywhere, anytime soon.
Hunting & Conservation
Honestly, I can understand why someone wouldn’t want to kill an animal and that’s totally fair. Nobody has to hunt. And if you don’t eat meat for that reason, more power to you, I can respect that. However, anybody that eats factory-farmed meat and then goes and complains about hunting is a moron.
Aside from the actual nutrient-dense meat that feeds millions of families around the country every year, the hunting industry brings in a ton of money for conservation, habitat preservation and other initiatives that benefit both the environment and the animals that live there. It also helps with population control and provides a healthy source of food to families all over the country. And frankly, taking a well placed arrow or bullet through the heart is a much quicker and ethical kill compared to how most deer will die in the wild.
Whitetail deer breed like crazy, and because we have largely eliminated apex predators (like wolves and mountain lions) from massive chunks of the country, deer populations have no natural way to stay in check. If hunters don’t thin the herd, the population explodes. When a forest exceeds its “carrying capacity,” the deer literally eat themselves out of house and home, leading to mass starvation. Overcrowding also turns the woods into a breeding ground for devastating illnesses like Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) and Epizootic Hemorrhagic Disease (EHD).
It also leads to more traffic accidents and negative human interactions. That’s not a huge deal for deer, but when you stop hunting a predator such as bears or wolves for instance, that can mean more dangerous encounter, and even injuries to hikers, children, livestock and/or pets.
But an overpopulated deer herd doesn’t just hurt the deer; it destroys the habitat for everything else. When there are too many deer, they overgraze the understory of the forest, stripping it bare. That underbrush is critical nesting habitat for wild turkeys, quail, songbirds, and small mammals. By keeping the deer population at a healthy, manageable level, hunters are indirectly saving the habitat for dozens of non-game species.
Funding
If there is one thing you need to know about conservation, it is the Pittman-Robertson Act of 1937. Hunters actually asked the government to tax them to save wildlife. There is an 11% federal excise tax on all firearms, ammunition, and archery equipment. Every time a hunter buys a box of shells or a new compound bow, that tax money goes straight back to state wildlife agencies. We are talking hundreds of millions of dollars every single year that pays for habitat restoration, wildlife research, and public land access.
Beyond the Pittman-Robertson tax, the direct purchase of hunting licenses and deer tags is the lifeblood of state agencies like the DNR or Game and Fish departments. Your $30 deer tag (price depending on the state) pays the salaries of the game wardens who stop poachers, the biologists who study herd health, and the land managers who maintain public hunting grounds.
If hunters suddenly put down their rifles and bows tomorrow, the wildlife agencies would go bankrupt, the deer would starve to death or get hit by a truck, and the forests would be decimated.
