Actor Miles Teller Goes Viral With Epic Pre All-Star Game Speech Honoring America’s 250th Anniversary

It will bring the chills.

Last night, the 2026 MLB All-Star game took place at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where the American League beat the National League 4-0, marking the first All-Star Game shutout in 13 years.

And before the game got started, actor Miles Teller, who is from the Philadelphia area, gave an inspiring speech which covered the 250 years of American history, which was very fitting as we just marked the 250th anniversary of America on the Fourth of July.

There was also a slide show presentation that played with the unofficial theme song of Philly sports, Meek Mill’s “Dreams and Nightmares,” in the background, as Teller said to the crowd:

“250 years ago, they came to Philadelphia. In a hall not far from here, a bold idea took root, a declaration was made, and a new nation was born. And as our nation grew from sea to shining sea, through trial and triumph, it found its rhythm in a game, baseball.

Both a reflection of America’s journey, and a force that helped shape it. It has witnessed history, and made history, and brought comfort in times of hardship and healing, pointing us forward. In every inning, there is possibility. In every voice rising from the crowd, there is hope. In every at-bat, the opportunity to step forward, to take your swing, and to write your place in history.

And like the enduring spirit of America we honor here, baseball brings us together, and inspires the road ahead. And tonight, it brings us back to Philadelphia, as baseball’s brightest stars take the field for the Major League Baseball All-Star Game!”

You might recognize Teller for roles in “Top Gun: Maverick,” “Fant4stic Four,” or one of my personal favorites, “Footloose,” and he is also a diehard Philly sports fan, so I think he was the perfect choice for this and whoever wrote the speech deserves a raise.

It’s honestly much more effective if you watch it for yourself, so go ahead and do that here:

The video has since gone viral, and the comments section was loving the patriotic sentiment:

“This monologue with dreams and nightmares as the background is so tough.”

“Can we get a Field of Dreams 2 with Miles Teller as Ray?”

“Nailed it, Rooster!’

“Whoever produced this segment of the game needs a raise for having a live version of Dreams & Nightmares playing.”

“How can anyone say baseball isn’t romantic.”

“How can you hate America?”

“When it comes to honoring its roots, there isn’t a sport that does it better than the game of baseball. The people who produced this deserve all the love cause holy heck that was beautiful.”

“I need him to be in a patriotic baseball movie now.”

“Goosebumps.”

This is fantastic.”

“Rooster never misses.”

“So dang good. The American Dream! There’s a reason why people all over the world want to be here! Beautiful speech. God bless the USA.”

“This was amazing. All beliefs and feelings aside with politics or whatever bullshit, we can always fall back on each other and sports. Especially baseball. God bless America. I love you all and I love baseball.”

“Only baseball could celebrate our 250th in the most respectful way!”

Couldn’t have said it any better, and even though I’m far from a Philly sports fan, I have to give them, and the FOX team who put it together, credit for this because it was beautiful.
