The “Save Me” singer made this fan’s day.
Jelly Roll has made an impact in many people’s lives with his inspiring story from convict to country star. His music has helped many fans get through tough times, and whenever Jelly can help in other ways (like speaking to incarcerated individuals), he never hesitates. There are plenty of people out there that don’t consider themselves fans of Jelly Roll… and I just don’t see how you couldn’t like the guy when you see videos like this one.
The rapper-turned-country-artist had just gotten out of a taping for Jimmy Kimmel Live! when he was made aware that some fans were standing outside and wanting to meet him. The mother and her disabled son were waiting patiently to hopefully just get the chance to meet Jelly Roll, and the interaction they ended up experiencing likely went beyond their wildest dreams.
Both the mother and her son were over the moon getting to meet Jelly Roll. The woman told the singer that, because of him, her son even sings now. She then showed Jelly a video of him singing, and he couldn’t have been happier for them. She went on to say that this meeting meant the world to her, and Jelly Roll responded by saying this:
“You don’t know how much this means to me. You don’t know how much I need this. I’m glad I got to come say hi.”
Shortly after, the mother shared that they had already bought tickets to see Jelly Roll on on Friday, May 8 at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. As soon as the “Son of a Sinner” singer heard that, he made sure to hook up the mother and son with special access to the event:
“We’ll take care of y’all at the Greek. Get her information and we’ll roll out the red carpet for you all Friday. We’ll bring you all backstage and meet everybody, okay? We’ll party Friday.”
All in all, it was the type of interaction that simply brings a smile to your face.
The mother and son were grinning from ear to ear for most of the impromptu meet-and-greet. But it was Jelly Roll who was truly overwhelmed by the kindness and joy that exuded from meeting with the two fans:
“Making my soul smile man… it almost brings a tear to my eye, but I can’t cry. He’s so happy it makes me happy. Just the joy, I don’t know, it’s awesome. I’m glad I came over here.”

Just goes to show you how powerful music can be, and how incredibly sympathetic Jelly Roll towards those that are in need. He never shies away from using his platform to help others, and in this case, bringing a lot of happiness to one of his disabled fans.
