No better way to start off the week than with an Eric Church release.
Eric Church is gearing up to release his first-ever theater-concert film experience, Eric Church: Evangeline vs. The Machine Comes Alive, in partnership with IMAX. It will be in select movie theaters in the U.S. and Canada on February 11th, 2026, and February 14th, 2026.
Eric Church: Evangeline vs. The Machine Comes Alive itself will capture both of the North Carolina native’s sold-out nights at The Pinnacle in Nashville, Tennessee, back in May, complete with all the offerings from the Free The Machine Tour, such as his six-piece backing band and his newly added horn, string and choir section.
Fans can expect him to run through hits like “Give Me Back My Hometown,” “Sinners Like Me” and “Springsteen,” which were all reimagined with a six-piece band, four-piece horns, four-piece strings, eight-piece choir and vocalist Joanna Cotten, so it’s going to be an incredible experience to see and hear it all in such an enhanced way, outside of being at the actual concert itself.
While we are still over a month away from seeing the film on the big screen, Church is dropping a few singles that will be found on the Evangeline vs The Machine: Comes Alive (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack), which accompanies the film, before it’s released. Church has already shared “Desperate Man,” “Bleed on Paper,” and “Knives of New Orleans,” and today he shares another stellar performance from Nashville’s The Pinnacle, “Hell Of A View.”
“Hell Of a View” from his 2021 triple album Heart & Soul was his last number one hit, topping charts the same year it was released. The tune makes you want to roll the windows of your car down and stick your head out of the window, living freely as you hear the narrator sing of two lovers who are throwing away societal expectations. The lovers might be living recklessly, but they have never felt freer and more alive, knowing that this is the path they were meant for.
