Pam Tillis Mistakenly Raves About Riley Green’s “Worst Way” To Tucker Wetmore During Awkward Introduction: “Love The New Video”

It’s an honest mistake…

Earlier this week, country legend Pam Tillis and several other country stars appeared at a Grand Ole Opry event to play some acoustic tunes, where she introduced the people onstage first, which included Riley Green and Tucker Wetmore.

Well, Tucker was first up sitting right next to her, and she started talking about how much she “loved” his new music video, though I quickly realized she was talking about Riley’s new “Worst Way” music video, and she thought that’s who she was introducing first. To be fair, from a distance, I could kind of see how she might confuse them, especially because they both have brown hair, mustaches, and tend to wear baseball hats…

Pam did get the part right about how it’s “unanimous” how much everyone loves the video, though. I love that she watched it too… some things are ageless:

“Hey, uh, love the new video, and I think everybody is unanimous, it’s a great song. And you sang the hell out of it. You know, he’s been at it for a long time, everybody up here, they probably started young, as kids I’m sure, and you’ve been paying your dues for a good long while. From your home state of Alabama, right?”

I think Tucker could probably tell at this point that she was confused about who she was introducing, correcting her politely:

“No, I’m from Washington state.”

But that mistake didn’t seem to slow her down, because she just kept going with it, seeming surprised to hear that Riley was not from Alabama:

“Like I said,  you’re from Washington… yeah, but you’ve been at it an awful long time and he stepped into the big time, y’all. He’s a headliner, give it up. Come on now, it ain’t easy to pull off. Mr. Riley Green everybody.”

Tucker handled it pretty well, correcting her to the crowd but looking pretty uncomfortable doing it, which was kind of awkward, but then joked that he wished he was as “pretty” as Riley:

“My name is Tucker Wetmore. I wish I was that pretty, though”

Riley chimed in down at the other end of the line, helping make the situation a little less weird by saying:

“Just reuse that introduction in a little bit. It’ll work perfectly.”

Pam of course handled it like a pro, explaining to everyone that she knew she should’ve worn her glasses up there and had just told her management that… and honestly, fair. She probably should have, but it was pretty funny to watch her rave about the “Worst Way” video. That is something we can all agree on, no matter what age you are:

“No wonder you’re from Washington… I haven’t seen your video. Is he down there? I can’t see that far. I told my management I should’ve worn my glasses.”
