Donald Trump Praises “Fantastic Country Music Artist” Brian Kelley For His “Great” New Song “Make America Great Again”

Kinda feel like he has to say that, right?

Brian Kelley has spent much of his career as the lesser-known half of Florida Georgia Line, alongside bandmate Tyler Hubbard. But after some disagreements between the two, they decided to go their separate ways and pursue their own solo careers.

I’ll admit I like Kelley’s music more than Hubbard’s (which isn’t really saying much), but so far Hubbard has had more success as a solo artist.

But BK just landed a major endorsement: President Donald Trump.

Last week, Kelley released his latest single “Make America Great Again,” a Donald Trump-supporting anthem about the issues facing our country.

And look, all politics aside, whether you agree with the message or not (I actually agree with most of what he’s saying), it’s not a great song. But hey, I get it, you’ve got to get your name out there somehow. And landing that Trump endorsement’s not gonna hurt the streaming numbers.

On his social media platform Truth Social, the former president and current GOP presidential nominee had high praise for Kelley and the song:

“Listen to this GREAT song, “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN,” just out by fantastic Country Music Artist, Brian Kelley. It is the REAL DEAL!”

I mean, who am I to disagree with our former president, but seems like calling Kelley a “fantastic country music artist” is going a bit far. But hey, I get it, you gotta take care of your people.

Kelley has been an outspoken supporter of former President Donald Trump, which has long been speculated as part of the problems between himself and his former bandmate. At one point during the 2020 election, Hubbard (who leans more Democrat) unfollowed Kelley on social media.

And Kelley has also said that he was “shocked” when Hubbard decided to go solo by playing President Joe Biden’s inauguration in 2021 without discussing it with Kelley.

“Surprised. Shocked for sure. I thought we had a deal about what the plan was.

Going back to my main thing, is protecting FGL. I didn’t think that was a good look, if I’d have done it or if he did it.”

So while politics wasn’t necessarily the reason for the band’s breakup, it seems pretty clear that their political differences didn’t help things.

Gotta wonder how Hubbard feels now, seeing his former bandmate getting a shoutout from the pres.
