Maren Morris Stuns Fans, Seemingly Goes Instagram Official With Cassadee Pope In New PDA-Packed Photo

Maren Cassadee

Did Maren Morris just go Instagram official with fellow country artist Cassadee Pope.? I can’t say I saw that one coming.

The country music singer behind songs like “My Church” and “Chasing After You” was pictured with Pope – who many might recognize from The Voice – in a PDA-packed moment yesterday. It seemingly marks the first time that Morris has gone public with a relationship since she revealed that she was bisexual in June of 2024.

That announcement a couple of years back actually came just months after Maren finalized her divorce from fellow country singer Ryan Hurd. It was during Pride Month of that year that she used a post to announce that she was bisexual, saying that she was “happy to be the B in LGBTQ+.”

Other than that, Maren hasn’t been all that open about her relationships or sexuality. Around the initial time of her announcement, she did open up on her decision to come out as bisexual and told the AP that it took her a while to muster the “bravery” to make it public knowledge:

“I knew that about myself but I didn’t really feel like I was a part of the community. I felt like I was an ally and like, supportive of the community, but I just maybe internally hadn’t had the bravery to go there in myself and say the words out loud, which is so funny because I’m so open.

I think there was just like, a full sweep after my divorce of like, I know these things about myself and I’m learning and learning how to verbalize a lot of it, and that was one of the pieces that like, set the rest free I suppose.”

Now, a couple of years later, Morris is comfortable in sharing that her and Cassadee Pope are a couple. Pope first shared a photo on her Instagram story of the couple hugged up together in New York City. Both artists currently reside in Nashville, but judging by this caption, they might be flirting with the idea of moving to the Big Apple:

“Trying to get bb to move here, everyone help.”

And in another photo posted later in the night, Morris and Pope revealed to the world that they are dating.

Pope shared a close-up picture of her and Morris kissing, and if that wasn’t enough to confirm the news, the country star said in the caption overlaid on the photo that the pair are officially “going out” with one another:

“She won’t go out with you because she’s out with me, silly.”

And so it appears that Maren Morris is officially off the dating market. Back in May Pope shared an Instagram post celebrating 1 year with her boyfriend at the time, but it has since been deleted… so who knows if this is a legit hard launch, or Cassadee just trying to drum up some attention.

As stated earlier, Maren Morris still lives in Nashville, and near her ex-husband, Ryan Hurd. They continue to co-parent their 6-year-old son, Hayes. Considering that, it’ll be interesting to see if Pope trying to get Morris to relocate to New York City is a real possibility.

Regardless, all signs are pointing towards the pair really settling into their new relationship. Morris even recently shared that she’ll take a break from touring after she wraps her DreamGirl Tour in August, so her and Pope should have plenty of time to figure out a potential move and further reveal how they became a couple.

Maren Morris On Coming Out

Of course in recent memory, Maren Morris seems to be an artist who gets more attention for what she says and does than she does for her actual music. There was the time she decided to ignite a feud with Jason Aldean’s wife, Brittany Aldean, and accuse her of being anti-trans because Brittany joked about being thankful that her parents didn’t change her gender when she went through her tomboy phase. Cassadee Pope joined her in the beef as well.

But more recently than those headlines, Maren decided to call out all of country music as “toxic” and say she was leaving the genre, before quickly backtracking and claiming that she was only leaving the bad parts behind. She’s continued to backtrack, saying her words were taken out of context and twisted around.

After Maren announced her divorce from fellow country singer Ryan Hurd, and then used a Pride Month post to announce that she was bisexual, saying that she was “happy to be the B in LGBTQ+.” Maren hasn’t really said much else about her sexuality, but during a interview with the AP she opened up on the decision to come out as bisexual and said that it took a while for her to get up the “bravery” to make it public:

“I knew that about myself but I didn’t really feel like I was a part of the community. I felt like I was an ally and like, supportive of the community, but I just maybe internally hadn’t had the bravery to go there in myself and say the words out loud, which is so funny because I’m so open.

I think there was just like, a full sweep after my divorce of like, I know these things about myself and I’m learning and learning how to verbalize a lot of it, and that was one of the pieces that like, set the rest free I suppose.”

And during a subsequent appearance at West Hollywood’s OUTLOUD Festival, Maren thanked fans for their support after coming out while claiming that she didn’t want to be treated differently after the announcement:

“Thank you guys and girls and everyone in between for supporting me. I never try to like, even though I’m the one at the microphone right now, with that last summer I didn’t want to make a big like, press release or anything, I just wanted to like, say it and then like, be normal. I think that’s all any of us want.”

Classic Maren, always wanting the spotlight on others and not her…

Of course the pop singer previously said that she wasn’t in a hurry to jump back in a relationship after her divorce, saying that she was going to take some time for herself:

“I feel like for so long, just being an artist and taking care of a lot of people on the road, you get so used to being the boss. I sort of lost sight of truly taking care of myself. I feel like this is just a perfect moment for me to make that statement.”

And she also revealed the lofty requirements she has for a future partner:

“I think pouring myself into another person is probably not a healthy way of going about things. I think it shifts the expectations and power and entitlement a lot. I just have to put 100 percent into myself, and you truly have to be a spectacularly impressive individual to add something to my life because — and I don’t mean to sound full of myself — but the life that I’ve built, I am really, really happy with.”

It’s tough out there in the dating world, but it sounds like Maren has now found someone to be with in that of fellow country singer (still? not entirely sure….) Cassadee Pope.
