Hot off the press.
Hit single after hit single, deluxe albums, EPs… nobody is cranking out music like Luke Combs right now. And yet, Luke still continues to give us more. You gotta love it.
And as soon as I saw who he co-wrote this new one with, I don’t think I’ve ever hit the play button faster.
“Sat down to write some songs with Charlie Worsham and Hailey Whitters awhile ago and this is one of my favorites we got. It’s called “Ever Mine.” Hope y’all enjoy.”
If you’re not familiar with Hailey Whitters or Charlie Worsham, you gotta fix that immediately. Hailey’s album The Dream, released earlier this year, is an absolute must-listen. And Charlie is unquestionably one of the most talented dudes in Nashville. I love everything he touches.
Put them in a room with Luke, and this is the kind of magic you’re gonna get. A song about a lonely soldier, stationed overseas, penning an emotional letter to his wife at home.
“Amidst the grips of the troubled times,
way back to you I always find,
your the wind that whispers through the pine,
bloom in the rose and green on the vine.
To we meet again my love sincerely signed,
I’m ever yours, your ever mine.”
RELEASE IT.
Charlie also shared some insight into how this all came to be, and what his experience writing with Luke was like:
