This video that Laci Kaye Booth shared over the weekend goes to show just how meteoric of a rise that Ella Langley has been on in the past couple of years.
It’s no secret that the “Choosin’ Texas” singer has rocketed to country music superstardom. Along the way, she’s gotten the attention of country music and non-country fans alike. She’s got crossover appeal, and everyone is jumping on the Ella bandwagon. Most call themselves “Ella Fellas.” I’m not exactly sure what the female Ella fans calls themselves.
Langley has been on an absolute tear this year, becoming the first country artist in history to hold the Top 2 songs in the United States simultaneously for more than one week with, and the first female country artist to score three of the Top 4 hits on the Hot 100 in a single week with country songs, becoming one of only nine artists in any genre to accomplish this feat.
Langley’s generational success is not just limited to the Billboard charts, and as reported by Luminate, her smash hit “Choosin’ Texas” is the most-streamed song in all of music so far in 2026 in the United States with a staggering 570.9 million streams across platforms, beating out the likes of veteran superstars such as Taylor Swift, Bruno Mars, Bad Bunny and more.
In case that wasn’t impressive enough, it currently holds a staggering 230 million-stream lead on the second-most-streamed track, Olivia Dean’s “Man I Need.”
It’s a little crazy to sit back as a fan and see just how big of a star Langley has become, so there’s no telling how Ella herself feels about it all. She’s been very open about her faith keeping her grounded, and it appears that she surrounds herself with the right people as well. The latest example being Laci Kaye Booth, who was happy to make a post about the ride that Langley has been on since 2022.
Booth, known for songs like “Pearl Handled Pistol” and “Daddy’s Mugshot,” shared a video of her and Langley playing a Fleetwood Mac covering Key West, Florida together in 2022 for a grand total of about 7 or so people. Just four years ago, a handful of people were soaking up the sun at the beach and had no idea they were in the presence of a country music superstar in the making.
To be fair though, Whiskey Riff’s first blog about Ella was all the way back in 2018… we’re the OG Ella Fellas.
But then the video then jumps to 2026, where Booth and Langley were once again seated next to each other playing “Dreams.” As fate would have it, their dreams have come true a half decade after they played in Key West for less than 10 people. In the present day, they played the same song in front of thousands of people that packed a sold-out arena during Langley’s The Dandelion Tour:
“It’s sentimental to me… I’m so proud of her.”
What a difference four years can make, eh?
It’s Ella Langley’s world right now, and we’re all living in it. The good news for Ella? She’s got a whole lot of country fans and fellow country artists out there that are rooting for her, including Laci Kaye Booth.
