TV Insider, Peyton Manning will produce a new three-part docuseries focused on motorsports called “NASCAR Americana.” It will air on the USA Network in August, and is being produced by Full Speed Entertainment, NASCAR Studios, Words + Pictures, and it will be executive produced by Peyton Manning and his company, Omaha Productions.
I’m not exactly sure why Peyton is involved honestly, I think he’s been to some race and drove the pace car before, but I’ve never know him to be a super fan, at least not enough to executive produce a series about the sport, but I digress…
The first episode will premiere on August 9th after the NASCAR Cup Series Iowa Corn 350, and it will be extra special in that it will feature the first formal sit-down interview with Hall of Fame driver Kurt Busch since the tragic loss of his brother, Kyle Busch, who sadly passed away at the age of 41, on May 21st, 2026, due to pneumonia that progressed into sepsis. It was very sudden, and he left behind his wife, Samantha, and two children, Brexton (11) and Lennix (4), as well as his parents and fellow race car driver in his brother, Kurt Busch.
Kurt and Kyle grew up racing together, and both made it to the very top level of the sport, and were very close all of their lives.
Not long after Kyle passed, Kurt took to his social media accounts to thank everyone for their “support and love” for his brother and the entire Busch family. He says he’s found a “silver lining” throughout all of this in the memories of his childhood when the two first started racing “anything [they] could get [their] hands on.” They went from “big wheels” to the “biggest stages in motorsports,” always pushing each other to be better.
He also acknowledged what a massive impact Kyle had on so many lives, and of course, he says his “heart is broken,” but Kyle’s spirit “will always ride with me”:
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you, everyone, for the well wishes, support, and love for my brother and our family. Finding a silver lining, I reflect back on the days Kyle and I raced anything we could get our hands on.
From big wheels to competing on the biggest stages in motorsports, we were more than just fierce competitors. We pushed each other, challenged each other, and learned from each other. Kyle, your passion, determination, and love for your family inspired everyone who knew you. No trophy, championship, or accomplishment could ever measure the impact you had on my life and on so many others.
I will forever be grateful for the memories we made, the lessons you taught me, and the brotherhood we shared. My heart is broken, but I know your spirit will always ride with me. Rest easy, little brother.”
I’m sure it will be a very emotional moment, and all three episodes of this series are directed by Emmy-winner Max Gershberg, as they trace NASCAR’s roots from the hills of North Carolina that started with moonshiners running from the law, all the way up until present day and the sports evolution into a major, and very unique, American institution.
It’s part of the ongoing celebration of America’s 250th birthday, and the series will feature some of the biggest names in NASCAR, like Jeff Gordon, as well as other prominent figures, including Peyton Manning himself as well as country star Darius Rucker, who is a co-owner and investor in the NASCAR Cup Series team Legacy Motor Club.
Last year, Prime Video aired a three-part docuseries about the life of Dale Earnhardt, which featured and was co-produced by his children, Dale Jr. and Kelley Earnhardt, but this is the first in a while that focuses on N as a whole, and goes from the very beginning of the sport all the way to now. I hope they will do all of the history justice, because it really is so fascinating, and I will definitely be tuning in.
