Paying tribute to a legend.
On May 21st, 2026, NASCAR legend Kyle Busch sadly passed away at the age of 41 due to pneumonia that progressed into sepsis. It was very sudden, and ttons of tributes from fans and drivers have poured in over the last couple of months.
He left behind his wife, Samantha, and two children, Brexton (11) and Lennix (4), as well as his parents and fellow race car driver in his brother, Kurt Busch. It’s just so incredibly sad, and my thoughts and prayers continue to go out to his family who have experienced such a devastating tragedy. And now, the sport will officially honor his life and legacy with a celebration of life at Charlotte Motor Speedway, following the CRAFTSMEN Truck Series Race on October 9th. Kyle was the all-time wins leader in the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series, holding an unmatched 67 career victories, so that is definitely a fitting time to do it.
Kyle’s family already held a private funeral for him, but this is a chance for fans to attend the free memorial and pay their respects to one of the greatest drivers to ever do it. It still doesn’t seem real, but Kyle certainly deserves to be honored in this way, and while there aren’t a ton of details out yet in terms of what his will entail, I have to imagine some of his fellow drivers, and potentially even family members, will speak.
The NASCAR Cup Series Bank of America 400 is set for Sunday, October 11th, so there will likely be tons of fans in the Charlotte-area for the race weekend, and I have to imagine there will be a packed out for the fans to pay proper final tribute to the legend:
