Team USA Soccer Releases “Free Bird” Hype Video For Belgium Matchup That Will Have You Ready To Run Through A Brick Wall

If you weren’t already amped to watch the U.S. Soccer Men’s National Team take on Belgium in the Round of 16 World Cup game tonight (and let’s be honest, you should be), this hype video that was just released by Team USA should do the trick.

The Men’s Team U.S.A. team is currently on their best World Cup run ever. Led by head coach Mauricio Pochettino (who is already the all-time winningest USMNT head coach in the FIFA World Cup), and stars Christian Pulisic and recently-un-red-carded Folarin Balogun, the American squad is finally getting fans to believe they are capable of hoisting the FIFA World Cup trophy.

Though there are some giants still left to slay in the tournament (like France, Spain, and Argentina), the style and tenacity that the U.S. team has played with has American soccer fans thinking, “Why not us?” The phrase has been used plenty of times by Coach Pochettino, and now as Team USA heads into their Round of 16 matchup, those faithful to the American team are legitimately starting to ask that question.

Granted, Belgium looks like they’ll be a tough team to beat. But there’s a lot of momentum in favor of the United States, like FIFA suddenly deciding to suspend the red-card ban of Folarin Balogun (seems like President Trump had a lot to do with that one), or the fact that the game is being played in Seattle… which will likely provide an unreal home field atmosphere for the U.S. team.

I’d certainly argue that this hype video that the U.S. Soccer Men’s National Team just rolled out also gives the upper hand to the boys in red, white and blue. While crossing over with NASCAR and the famous “start your engines” video that comedian Kevin James provided, and cueing up “Free Bird” by Lynyrd Skynyrd, the only host team remaining in the tournament may have put together the best hype video of all time:

“American, start your engines.”

Absolutely perfect… no notes. COME ON WITH IT.

That right there is exactly what the doctor ordered to get every person in America – soccer fan and casual World Cup watcher – ready to cheer on the United States tonight. Everyone on social media loved the hype video, and like I mentioned earlier, everyone in the U.S. of A. is starting to believe:

Again, may I put out in the cosmos… WHY NOT US?
