Everyone knows Buc-ee’s, but evidently, not everyone knew what the CEO behind the gas station brand looks like.
If you’ve ever been to a Buc-ee’s gas station, you likely either love it or hate it. The franchise – which specializes in clean bathrooms and delicious brisket – has slowly expanded outside of its point of origin in Texas. I, for one, love the Buc-ee’s experience. Any other gas station visit pales in comparison to the massive, beaver-themed rest stop. Frankly, they do it better than any other gas station out there.
Buc-ee’s has been adding new locations left and right as of late, and soon, they’ll open yet another massive, gas-station-and-brisket-sandwich-haven in North Carolina. At the ground breaking ceremony, the company’s CEO – Arch “Beaver “Aplin III – excitedly talked about opening up the first ever Buc-ee’s in the Tarheel State:
“It’ll be the first one in North Carolina, and I hope there comes a certain amount of pride for the state with that. As I say, the people (here) remind me of being at home. Just southern, just hospitality, just friendly people and it makes me feel at home coming from Texas.”
Yeah, I bet you didn’t hear a lick of what he just said, did you?
Chances are you were too distracted by the very unique look that Arch “Beaver “Aplin III sports. If you ask me, it’s somewhere between Yosemite Sam, Doug Dimmadome (owner of the Dimmsdale Dimmadome) and Colonel Sanders. And it’s not that the look isn’t working for the Buc-ee’s CEO… it very much is.
It’s just a little startling to finally see the face of the man behind the uberly successful gas station franchise, and I think this social media user said it best:
“Okay this is the Buc-ee’s CEO and he looks exactly as you would imagine. Love it.”
He really does exude Buc-ee’s energy, and I mean that in the most polite and complimentary way possible.
Arch “Beaver” Aplin III is also such a wildly fantastic name too. He has previously said that he got the nickname from his mother, who likened his appearance to a cartoon beaver from the 1950s (how sweet, eh?). Aplin took that, combined it with the name of his dog, Buck, and created a monster gas station business that shows no signs of slowing down.
And I suppose that he hasn’t shown his face all that often, because this latest public appearance is really making the rounds on social media. Simply put, the internet is stunned to find out what the Buc-ee’s CEO looks like:
He looks like the mascot lmao
