Zach Bryan Brings Out Shane Gillis For Epic Cover Of Warren Zevon’s “Lawyers, Guns & Money” In Charlotte

Shane Gillis Zach Bryan

Did not have Shane Gillis singing Warren Zevon on my 2026 bingo card.

It’s still early but 2026 has been off to a great start for Zach Bryan. Shortly after announcing that he’s beginning his sobriety journey late in 2025, he would get married to Samantha Sebastian on New Year’s Eve. Just two weeks later, he’d drop his long-awaited sixth studio album, With Heaven On Top, along with a full-length acoustic version of the record. Delivering another stellar effort, With Heaven On Top would debut #1 on the all-genre Billboard 200, selling 130,00 units in its first week and charting 18/25 songs on the Billboard Hot 100.

Fresh off the album, the “Something in the Orange” singer would embark on his international set of dates, With Heaven On Tour, at the start of March. So far, it’s been off to a pretty good start, packing the likes of LSU’s Tiger Stadium, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Raymond James Stadium, San Antonio’s The Aladome, University of Tulsa’s H.A. Chapman Stadium and Louisville’s L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium, which he called the “the best crowd I’ve ever played for in my life, or in the running for sure.”

Over the weekend, he made another one-night stop at the Carolina Panthers’ Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. Performing to another packed stadium, the Oklahoma native would deliver another lengthy, 27-song set filled with new tracks such as the controversial “Bad News,” “Slicked Back” and “Santa Fe” as well as past smashes like “Something in the Orange,” “I Remember Everything” and “Oklahoma Smokeshow.”

The most memorable moment of the night undoubtedly came during the encore when none other than Shane Gillis made a surprise appearance.

It should go without saying that Bryan and Gillis are pretty inseparable at this point in their careers. In addition meeting President Trump together at the Super Bowl in 2025, Gillis has been a frequent flyer at Bryan’s concerts, coming out for multiple performances of “Revival” over the past year or so. Additionally, he also opened up for the “Heading South” singer last September at Notre Dame Stadium in a bold move from the pair.

This weekend, in addition to joining Bryan for “Revival” as usual, Gillis would also come out for a cover of Warren Zevon’s “Lawyers, Guns and Money,” which has been a bit of a setlist staple since being debuted at Stagecoach last year.

I think it’s pretty safe to say that Shane shouldn’t quit his day job as a comedian in favor of singing, but there’s absolutely no denying it was a great moment from the Charlotte show. Fans in the TikTok comments couldn’t help but love it either, laughing at the fact that he looked a bit lost out there timing wise.

“Shane looks like all of us who get dragged into karaoke at the bar”

“Shane not knowing when to sing is sending meeeee.

“I love how nervous and awkward he is!

“Does Shane know he’s famous?”

“I literally saw Shane at Spectrum last night and he went straight to Zach’s concert”
