Get ready.
It’s not often you see an artist, duo or group release two separate albums in a single year, but that’s exactly what Muscadine Bloodline did in 2025. In addition to their follow-up to 2024’s The Coastal Plain, April’s …And What Was Left Behind, the Alabama duo added to their fast-growing discography with the surprise release of Longleaf Lo-Fi, a stripped-back acoustic album, to close the year in November.
Undeniably, it would already be impressive to produce two albums in the same year that are as good as the aforementioned …And What Was Left Behind and Longleaf Lo-Fi. With that being said, however, it becomes even more impressive when you look at just how busy the duo, comprised of Charlie Muncaster and Gary Stanton, truly were throughout the entirety of 2025, and they’re showing no signs of slowing down this year as well.
In addition to being booked for some of the hottest festivals in the country, including the likes of Two Step Inn, Gulf Coast Jam and Railbird, yesterday, they were announced as direct support for none other than the Red Dirt legends themselves, Turnpike Troubadours, on their brand new 2026 tour.
In case that wasn’t impressive enough, yesterday evening, the Alabama duo would take to Instagram to announce that they have officially finished recording their sixth studio album. If you’re doing the math, it’s their sixth project (including Longleaf Lo-Fi) in just four years.
Stanton and Muncaster would reveal in the caption that the album was recorded at Layman Drug Company in Nashville in 13 days, and it will contain 15 new tracks. Additionally, they’d hint at the project taking their sound to a new level, calling it a “whole different beast.”
“The same ole cast of folks, pushing to make something special together. Thanks the boys and Layman Drug Company for letting us take over for a few weeks! This record is a whole different beast and can’t wait to unleash it on yall!”
With some artists, the prospect of getting a fourth project released in three years might indicate a quantity over quality approach. With that being said, however, that’s simply not the case here with Muscadine. As one of the best duos in country music right now, they’ve only gotten better with age, and it’s likely they prove this once again on this upcoming album.
As of now, there is no release date for the record.
Before you go, fire up a standout from Longleaf Lo-Fi, “My Meridian.”
