“It Wasn’t A Noble Thing”: Brianna Chickenfry Says She Couldn’t Do Her Job If She Signed Zach Bryan’s Alleged $12 Million NDA

The never-ending saga continues. We all know about Zach Bryan’s very public breakup with Barstool Sports personality Brianna Chickenfry, as the two of them split in the fall of 2024 and it made tons of headlines when Brianna aired it all out on her BFFs podcast with Dave Portnoy and Josh Richards.

Just under two months ago, Bryan married his girlfriend Samantha Leonard in Spain, which came as a surprise to many fans considering they hadn’t been dating, or at least publicly dating, for all that long, and Brianna had a lot to say about all that on Logan Paul’s Impaulsive podcast this week.

But she also spoke about turning down the over $12 million NDA, first telling Paul how much Bryan would dislike him:

“He’s always the ops. Oh my gosh, he would hate you. Yes. He hated anything to do with podcasting, he thinks it’s so embarrassing, like, the worst thing ever. He would always make fun of my career.”

Logan pointed out that he actually could understand that, because doing what he does for a living can severely “inflate your sense of self,” which is kind of funny coming from him. But they also conceded that Zach was a very talented person, and when you have a very unique gift like that, it’s easy not to find a lot of value in podcasting.

“However, when you’re a real superstar with a real talent like your ex, I could see how that could inflate your sense of self. With singing in particular, it’s almost like, God has chosen you for this gift. That’s how I’ve always felt about someone who is born vocally [gifted].”

Brianna said that she doesn’t think her ex is that great of a singer, and I definitely think his true talent is his songwriting, which she agreed with, saying she “loved his music” when they first got together.

But she’s “positive” she would have never taken the money, because she just wanted to be done with the relationship, and had she signed it, she wouldn’t have been able to do her job or post on social media for five years:

“I know that no one believes me but if I wanted to, I would’ve f****** taken it. Because I don’t want anything… you guys have no idea that half of what I went through with this person. To have that hanging over my head for one more second, and to be in a contract with him for five more years. I would have been under surveillance with his team and him for the next five years of my life, until the payout was complete… I wouldn’t have been able to do my job, I wouldn’t have been able to post anything, I wouldn’t have been able to say anything. I could only say positive remarks.

I just couldn’t be on social media. And he also tried to put in the NDA, this is like such old news, but I guess I’ve never told you guys about it, but he put in the NDA, like, all of Barstool, all of Josh, and all of Dave. So they would’ve been under control, I’m like, that’s literally impossible. What are you talking about? Insane. It was just out of the question for me… it was so controlling. And I would have to do check-in with them, stay in contact with his manager. It wasn’t supposed to be a noble thing. It was more so for me, and I wanted that chapter of my life to be done.”

A lot to unpack here, but I’m not quite sure I fully understand how Brianna wouldn’t have been able to work anymore. If her idea of “work” and “content” is talking about her ex, which has been her entire personality since they broke up, then yeah, I could see how that could’ve been a problem. But if you really wanted to move on from it, why are you talking about it nonstop, years later? That doesn’t exactly scream ” I want to be done with this.” And NDAs only apply to who signs them so I’m not sure how Zach’s team would’ve expected Dave and Josh to be included.

Paul couldn’t figure out why Bryan still wanted “that level of control” over her after they split, and Brianna boiled it down to the fact that she believes he’s a “psychopath and a narcissist, and very scary person”:

“Because he is a psychopath, and a narcissist, and very scary person and I know so much but I’m just so over… like, when I came forward with what I went through, it wasn’t like I knew I was never gonna ruin his career. I knew nothing was ever gonna change for him. It was for me, and for girls that experienced the same thing. I knew people weren’t gonna believe me. I knew he was gonna do everything that he could to like smear my campaign, or like f****** hurt my career, which he did.

And it just wasn’t for him. It was for me. Like, I knew he’d be fine. Like I said in the first podcast episode, we don’t punish bad men, we make them President. That is literally what goes on.”

She also pointed out during the episode that she doesn’t just talk about this situation all the time, but people ask her about it a lot, considering how public she was with the breakup. But at the same time, if she really wanted the conversation about him to end, she could end it. Not making excuses for Zach, or whatever happened between them, but let’s just say Brianna turned down that money and now is certainly trying to get her money’s worth in content.
