Seems like things are going well in Chapel Bill.
It’s been a rough year start to his college head coaching career for former New England Patriots and current University of North Carolina head coach Bill Belichick. The Tar Heels are 4-6 in Belichick’s first season as a college head coach, the coach recently denied rumors that he was interested in an NFL job that, at least as far as we know, he was never a candidate for, and fans are worried that the legendary coach is just tarnishing his reputation at this point.
Through it all though, Belichick has had his girlfriend by his side. Literally, on the sideline.
Belichick has been in a relationship with 24-year-old former college cheerleader Jordon Hudson since 2023, but earlier this year questions swirled after Hudson was spotted on the field with Belichick during UNC football practices, leaving many to wonder exactly what role she was playing with the team and whether she was on Belichick’s staff.

And it was also revealed that the coach had asked UNC staff to copy his Gen Z girlfriend on emails to him, raising even more questions.
Then of course came the disastrous CBS interview on his new book, The Art Of Winning: Lessons From My Life In Football.
Hudson was the only person who accompanied Belichick to the interview: No PR team, no other staff from UNC, nobody from the publisher of his upcoming book, which he was supposedly there to promote. At one point Hudson reportedly stormed off the set and delayed shooting by 30 minutes, forcing higher-ups at CBS to get involved. And she had apparently interrupted from off camera several times in addition to the one that was shown, forcing producers to try to figure out how to salvage the final product and edit the interview in a way that could be aired on television.
When reporter Tony Dokoupil asked about how the couple met (which has been widely reported as having happened while the two were on a flight together and he signed her college textbook), Hudson quickly jumped in and shut the question down in an awkward exchange:
The whole thing was bizarre, and led many to wonder whether Hudson was taking advantage of the legendary coach – or at the very least, tarnishing his legacy.
Even Belichick’s daughter-in-law Jen Belichick, the wife of his son Steve Belichick (who, ironically, works for his dad as the defensive coordinator for UNC) chimed in and seemed to throw shade at Hudson:
“Publicists act in a professional manner and don’t ‘storm’ off set delaying an interview.”
Talk about awkward.
It’s been a disaster both on and off the field, with rumors flying at one point that Hudson had even been banned from the football facilities and the university releasing an official statement defending their 73-year-old coach’s 24-year old girlfriend.
Like I said, just a total disaster.
And apparently the issues are spilling over into Belichick’s family too. It was already pretty clear that Jen Belichick wasn’t a fan of her father-in-law’s new woman, but according to a recent report from the New York Post the family issues may have boiled over after a recent game.
According to the report, sources close to the team confirmed that Jen Belichick “exploded” on Hudson after a recent Tar Heels game against Stanford back on November 8.
Despite UNC beating the Cardinal in Chapel Hill, Jen Belichick reportedly let both Hudson and her father-in-law have it once they all got back to his office after the game, reportedly furious over an interaction the two between the two earlier in the day.
Jen reportedly complained that “all she does is control sh-t” while also calling Hudson “batsh-t crazy.” And she accused Hudson of “twisting” Belichick’s brain while urging the legendary coach to “wake up.”
And apparently the blowout, which reportedly lasted 40 minutes, got personal too: Jen allegedly complained about Hudson wearing snakeskin pants to games, and at one point even muttered under her breath for Hudson to “eat a cheeseburger.”
Of course this is all the more awkward because her husband is also a coach at UNC, but Jen reportedly said that she didn’t care if her rant resulted in Belichick firing his son or disowning the couple. And she also apparently gave him an ultimatum: It was either Hudson or them.
Jen, whose maiden name was Jennifer Schmitt, and Steve Belichick have been married since 2017, and have four children (Bill Belichick’s grandchildren) together.
The reported explosion from Jen comes after it had been reported that the two apparently steered clear of each other during the game against the Cardinal that day, watching from different suites. And coincidentally, Hudson was wearing a snake print skirt that day too…
More recently, Bill Belichick was spotted supporting his girlfriend (and looking absolutely miserable) at her cheerleading competition with her Cheer Extreme Code Black co-ed cheerleading team.
This is going to be such a great 30 for 30 someday.
