A behind-the-scenes look at what the 73-year old coaching legend has to deal with.
It’s been a rough year professionally for former New England Patriots and current University of North Carolina head coach Bill Belichick. He’s five games in to his college coaching career and so far he’s 2-3 this season. Embarrassing losses to Clemson, UCF and TCU have already led to rumblings that UNC might part ways with Belichick before the season is even over, and fans of Belichick are worried that he’s unnecessarily harming his legacy as one of the greatest NFL coaches of all time at this point.
As far as his personal life goes though, Belichick seems pretty happy these days, no doubt thanks in big part to his 24-year old girlfriend Jordon Hudson.
Belichick has been in a relationship with the former cheerleader since 2023, but earlier this year questions swirled after Hudson was spotted on the field with Belichick during UNC football practices, leaving many to wonder exactly what role she was playing with the team and whether she was on Belichick’s staff.

And it was also revealed that the coach had asked UNC staff to copy his Gen Z girlfriend on emails to him, raising even more questions.
Then of course came the disastrous CBS interview on his new book, The Art Of Winning: Lessons From My Life In Football.
Hudson was the only person who accompanied Belichick to the interview: No PR team, no other staff from UNC, nobody from the publisher of his upcoming book, which he was supposedly there to promote. At one point Hudson reportedly stormed off the set and delayed shooting by 30 minutes, forcing higher-ups at CBS to get involved. And she had apparently interrupted from off camera several times in addition to the one that was shown, forcing producers to try to figure out how to salvage the final product and edit the interview in a way that could be aired on television.
When reporter Tony Dokoupil asked about how the couple met (which has been widely reported as having happened while the two were on a flight together and he signed her college textbook), Hudson quickly jumped in and shut the question down in an awkward exchange:
The whole thing was bizarre, and led many to wonder whether Hudson was taking advantage of the legendary coach – or at the very least, tarnishing his legacy.
Even Belichick’s daughter-in-law, the wife of his son Steve Belichick (who, ironically, works for his dad as the defensive coordinator for UNC) chimed in and seemed to throw shade at Hudson:
“Publicists act in a professional manner and don’t ‘storm’ off set delaying an interview.”
Talk about awkward.
After the interview, there were rumors that UNC had even banned Hudson from football facilities, reports the university disputed in a statement defending the coach’s girlfriend:
“While Jordon Hudson is not an employee at the University or Carolina Athletics, she is welcome to the Carolina Football facilities. Jordon will continue to manage all activities related to Coach Belichick’s personal brand outside of his responsibilities for Carolina Football and the University.”
It wasn’t the first time the university has had to use their official channels to defend Hudson. UNC released a statement after the CBS interview defending their coach’s girlfriend and claiming that the interview was solely to talk about his new book, which CBS later denied with their own statement claiming that they hadn’t agreed to any restrictions on the conversation.
The whole thing is turning into a disaster for UNC and Belichick, a coach who notoriously liked to stay out of the headlines and away from the media to just focus on football.
But now we’re getting a behind-the-scenes look at just how involved Hudson really is with her boyfriend’s career (as if we needed any more confirmation).
Investigative journalist Pablo Torre released newly-leaked footage on this week’s episode of Pablo Torre Finds Out that shows Hudson and Belichick in a production meeting with NFL Films. During the conversation, Hudson critiques the show’s graphics and content, while expressing her displeasure with the graphics design team.
She also apparently wants to show off her own knowledge of graphic design by repeated referring to “Adobe Photoshop,” apparently preferring to call the software by its full government name.
Hudson also brags about building Belichick’s website by herself with no graphic design experience, and giving her input to a team of actual professional graphic designers.
Belichick and Hudson are then caught on a hot mic talking smack about the team at NFL Films, with Belichick telling Hudson that she would make the place better and his girlfriend expressing her surprise that they have four full-time graphic designers on staff who put together the package that apparently left her unimpressed.
Of course there’s nothing that’s really “bombshell” in the footage, but as Torre points out, it shows the dynamic between Hudson and Belichick and her role in all things related to the legendary head coach. It confirms that Hudson is seemingly a VERY active participant in her boyfriend’s career, something that many were already concerned about before seeing it in action.
Apparently Torre also has more leaked footage of the two, so it will be interesting to see what else Hudson is doing behind the scenes for Belichick, Inc.
Well, at least professionally. I really don’t want to see what they’re doing behind the scenes in their personal life.
