“Do I Need That Much Detail About My Brother-In-Law?” – Kylie Kelce Has A Love-Hate Relationship With Taylor Swift’s “Wood”

Kylie Kelce

Kylie Kelce has a love-hate relationship with Taylor Swift’s new song “Wood.”

If you haven’t heard it yet, it’s arguably the most sexual, provocative and somewhat controversial song of Taylor Swift’s career. It’s called “Wood,” and if you just think about that title for a second (and use context clues), I’m sure you can figure out why it’s been talked about ad nauseam.

The ninth track on the album really caught fans – Swifties and non-Swifties – off guard. It’s a song that straight up discusses Travis Kelce’s game in the bedroom, and more importantly (and disgustingly, in my opinion), his manhood. Some of the track included clever references, while other portions of the lyrics just come out and leave little to the imagination.

It’s this portion of the song that’s really gotten the most attention since the release of The Life of a Showgirl:

“Forgive me, it sounds cocky
He (ah)-matized me and opened my еyes
Redwood tree, it ain’t hard to see
His love was thе key that opened my thighs
Girls, I don’t need to catch the bouquet, mm
To know a hard rock is on the way

And baby, I’ll admit I’ve been a little superstitious (Superstitious)
The curse on me was broken by your magic wand (Ah)
Seems to be that you and me, we make our own luck
New Heights (New Heights) of manhood (Manhood)
I ain’t gotta knock on wood”

Just laying it all out there… thanks so much Taylor Swift.

Many music fans were wondering how Swift’s fiancé, Travis Kelce, would handle the fact that there’s a song about his package out there for everyone to listen to now. In the latest New Heights podcast, Travis played coy about the whole thing, while his brother, Jason, cracked a couple of jokes and said he’d be more of a “Japanese maple,” which is actually a brilliant joke if you are familiar with tree species.

Then today, when Kylie Kelce (Jason Kelce’s wife) dropped her latest episode of Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce, we heard how Travis’s sister-in-law felt about the song – and Taylor Swift’s album as a whole. Kylie admitted that the songs “Opalite” and “Wi$h Li$t” were some of her favorites, and then surprisingly said that “Wood” would also be one of the highlights of project for her.

But as much as she likes the song, Kylie did think it was a bit too much:

“Who are we kidding? ‘Wood.’ Here’s the deal. Do I need that much detail? Specifically about my brother-in-law? Probably not. But also, good job, Trav. That’s it. Guys, yes. A thousand percent yes. That’s women supporting women. Proud of ya.”

Yeah… totally normal response for Kylie Kelce there. She admits it’s a catchy song, but she probably would have preferred not knowing that much about her brother-in-law’s you-know-what. Despite the slight uncomfortableness, Kylie Kelce congratulated Taylor Swift on the song and the album.
