From fighting crime in Metropolis to arresting illegal immigrants in the United States.
Actor Dean Cain is best known for his role as Superman in the television series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. Cain played the alter-ego of Clark Kent from 1993 to 1997, and went on to host Ripley’s Believe It Or Not on NBC from 1999-2003, most recently playing roles in many smaller and independent movies and television shows.
Cain is one of the few actors in Hollywood who has publicly supported President Donald Trump, endorsing him in all three of the past elections. In 2024, he told Fox News host Jesse Watters that there was “no question” who he was voting for:
“I never withhold an endorsement because I’m not that smart, Jesse. I’m endorsing President Trump 100%. No question about it.”
Well now it looks like he’s ready to do his own part to support the Trump administration.
Cain posted a video to his social media recently announcing that he was a sworn law enforcement officer and encouraging others to sign up to join the Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agency to help enforce our immigration law and get criminals off the streets:
“For those who don’t know, I am a sworn law enforcement officer as well as being a filmmaker. I felt it was important to join with our first responders to help secure the safety of all Americans, not just talk about it. So I joined up.
And here’s your opportunity to join ICE. Since President Trump took office, ICE has arrested hundreds of thousands of criminals, including terrorists, rapists, murderers, pedophiles, MS-13 gang members, drug traffickers, you name it.
Very dangerous people who are no longer on the streets. We need your help to protect our homeland and our families.”
And last night during an appearance on Fox News, Cain confirmed that he would soon be sworn in as an ICE agent himself:
“I’ve spoken with some officials over at ICE and I will be sworn in as an ICE agent ASAP. So they’ll have 80,001 recruits for their 10,000 positions.”
Asked what he would be doing for the agency, Cain said he was willing to do whatever was asked of him:
“I will do whatever Director Lyons wants me to do. If that’s what it takes, absolutely. I somehow doubt I’ll be in that position, but I would be there in a heartbeat.”
The actor called on Congress to fix the broken immigration system, but said that in the meantime, he was proud to support President Trump in his efforts:
“This country was built on patriots stepping up, whether it was popular or not, and doing the right thing. I truly believe this is the right thing…
Congress needs to fix it, but in the interim, President Trump ran on this. He is delivering on this. This is what people voted for. It’s what I voted for and he’s going to see it through, and I’ll do my part and help make sure it happens.”
Of course, the announcement was met with criticism from some on the left who accused Cain of simply engaging in a publicity stunt to remain relevant, or of needing money because his acting career has slowed down. But many more praised him for stepping up for his country:
