A huge milestone for the Earnhardt’s.
Over the weekend, Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his sister Kelley celebrated a huge win, as JR Motorsports got its 100th win in the NASCAR Xfinity Series with their driver Connor Zilisch took home the checkered flag, winning his fifth race of the season.
Jr. was in attendance at Indianapolis Motor Speedway and looked pretty excited about such a big victory:
Dale Jr. and his sister, Kelley Earnhardt Miller, co-own Jr. Motorsports, and Kelley serves as the CEO. She is an all-around brilliant businesswoman, and has a whole lot to do with the whole operation and running the show.
So, it’s only appropriate that Jr. shared a very sweet message about his sister following the race, calling her an “incredible business mind” and “great sister.” He also shared an adorable photo of them as kids:
“Congrats for being the incredible business mind that she is. A great sister too. Built a really great race team that has provided opportunity and success to many. “

Kelley shared the post, and humbly responded saying that they’ve “a great team all of our lives professionally and personally,” and credited everyone who has been part of their journey for helping them get to where they are now:
“Thanks brother. As evidenced by this picture, we have made a great team all of our lives professionally and personally! Our family history, your talents and my talents along with a whole lot of other awesome people’s talents have built this together!”
Just precious:

Of course, Jr. started his race team officially in 2002. It began as a three-car street stock team competing locally at Concord Motor Speedway, but prior to becoming a race team, it started in 1999 as the marketing division of Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s race team.
Once Jr. left DEI officially after a contract dispute with his stepmother, Teresa, following the death of his father, Jr. fielded just one car in the Xfinity series starting in 2005. Since then, it’s grown to a much bigger operation with four full-time drivers at the Xfinity level. Jr. and Kelley have always been close, and as detailed in the recent Earnhardt documentary, Kelley seems to have always been the “mom” of the siblings.
She even talks about choosing to go to military school as a teenager because Dale Jr. had been sent there by his dad and stepmom, and she knew he needed her and she needed to make sure he was okay. Since they were young, they’ve always been a close team, and clearly as adults they make a heck of a winning duo and it’s exciting to think where Jr. Motorsports might end up one day, because there’s always rumors about them eventually moving up to the Cup series.
If anyone could pull that off, it would be these two, and a huge congratulations are in order for them as they celebrate the 100th Xfinity series win.
