The jumbotron giveth, and the jumbotron taketh away.
If you are trying to keep a secret relationship under wraps, it’s probably best to not attend a high-profile concert like Coldplay. Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and his alleged mistress, his Chief People Officer Kristin Cabot, learned that the hard way. They supposedly attended the concert together in Boston, Massachusetts, well… technically Gillette Stadium is in Foxborough, and now their lives have likely been flipped upside down overnight.
For a little backstory before we really dive in, Byron is a tech CEO for the software company Astronomer – which is reportedly worth over $1 million. The woman he was spotted with during a portion of the show that was highlighting those in the crowd was, ironically, Astronomer’s human resources chief Kristin Cabot. According to LinkedIn, she’s held that position for just over nine months.
Meanwhile, Andy Byron is married with two kids… or at least he was married. Things might be changing expeditiously after this video of him seemingly getting caught in the act of cheating has gone viral on social media. Coldplay front man was using the camera connected to the jumbotron to showcase some fans in the crowd. The mid-concert bit went south fast when the camera landed on Byron and Cabot cuddling up with one another.
They quickly separated and tried to hide their faces, but the damage was already done. Social media is forever, and one person just so happened to be recording the proceedings when it all went down. Now, the footage is all over the internet, and it’s hilarious to hear Chris Martin narrate what was unfolding in real time:
“Oh look at these two. Oh come on, you’re okay. What? Either they’re having an affair, or they’re just very shy.”
DON’T THINK THEY ARE JUST VERY SHY CHRIS… just terrible people. Allegedly, of course. All parties are presumed innocent until the divorce is filed, but there is certainly an overwhelming amount of evidence to indicate some nefarious activity is going on here. Like… the fact that she is NOT his wife.
Listen… I don’t want to play Monday morning quarterback here, but if you are attending a concert with someone who you aren’t married to, and you are cuddling up with them, don’t you think you’d take a break while the jumbotron is going around and pointing out people in the crowd? Sure, they were probably thinking, “What are the odds the camera gets pointed at us?” But with hindsight, Byron and/or Cabot could have really afforded to take a bathroom break during that segment of the concert.
At the end of the day though, if this was what it looks like (an affair), it’s probably best that it got out in the open. Was it the best way for the news to break? Heck no… but there’s never really a good way for an extra-marital affair to be discovered. At least not that I know of. I’m sure they would have preferred to not go viral online, and get hit with comments like these from social media users:
“Oh that’s gonna be one awkward board meeting.”
“If I saw my husband cuddled up with his mistress at the COLDPLAY CONCERT, I would actually be sent to the psych ward.”
“They made it SO much worse by hiding.”
“The irony is that if they had just stood still and smiled this would never had made it to TikTok.”
“Imagine getting caught by Coldplay.”
“The camera man just did the partners of these two a huge service!”
That’s probably true…
