Joe Exotic is hoping that a Kardashian will help him be pardoned.
The Tiger King star, whose real name is Joseph Maldonado-Passage, never fails to entertain when it comes to his efforts to be released from prison. In 2020, Exotic was convicted on two federal charges related to hiring a hitman to kill rival zoo owner Carole Baskin, as well as violations related to the Endangered Species Act and falsifying wildlife records. He was sentenced to 22 years in prison, but since being locked up, he’s been fighting his convictions while also hoping to get some help from the president.
On inauguration day, Exotic posted frustrations that he was not pardoned, and Trump pardoned hundreds of rioters who were serving sentences for the entering the Capitol on January 6th, 2021. Right after Exotic heard this news, he shared a meme on social media inspired by the anime series Naruto, noting that Trump had forgotten him.
“If I was a crack dealer, maybe if I broke in the Capitol, or even have been related to the Bidens, I might have gotten some relief on being in prison innocent. Hell, the guy who killed 2 FBI Agents even got a pardon today. I can’t even get a new trial based on admitted perjury testimony.”
The internet laughed collectively at his posts toward the president. Since inauguration day, he has not slowed his roll on his efforts to get pardoned.
Most recently, Exotic pulled an interesting move, telling Trump that he would self-deport to Mexico with his illegal immigrant husband, Jorge Marquez Flores, if released.
But that plan backfired after Flores was released from prison and immediately taken to an ICE detention facility for a deportation hearing. Exotic’s efforts to be freed from prison did not miss a beat while he mourned the deportation of his husband, now seeking help from a prison reform activist.
And it’s not who you might think. Exotic is hoping that Kim Kardashian will help him become a free man.
Kardashian, who recently obtained her law degree after six years of law school, has been an advocate for prison reform and freeing the wrongfully convicted. Kardashian’s work started when she began her legal studies in 2018, when Trump commuted the sentence of Alice Johnson, a 63-year-old woman serving a life sentence without parole for a nonviolent drug offense after meeting with Kardashian, who advocated for her case and put some pressure on him given the severity of the sentence.
However, instead of going to the source itself, Exotic asked her sister Khloé to get Kim to help him. In a recent post, Khloé shared with the Call Her Daddy podcast host Alex Cooper, Exotic commented on that post, asking her to get him in touch with Kim.
“Really need to talk to your sister, I have the evidence to prove I’m innocent, just need her to call Trump for me.”
A TikTok user, alyssacasillas7, clocked the comment, leading her to go viral quickly. Comments on the post were hilarious, as one would expect.
