Finally clearing things up.
Morgan Wallen appeared on former Barstool Sports personality Caleb Pressley’s Sundae Conversations series today, who interviews all kinds of celebrities and parodies traditional news media interviews with sarcastic questions and funny, out-of-the-box conversations, and he even joked about being allowed in his own bar while on probation.
But one of the other viral stories of the year, happened with Morgan’s appearance, and abrupt exit from, Saturday Night Live in March, which became a huge trending topic online because people seemed to think there might’ve been some bad blood between Morgan and the show. During SNL’s signature end of show sendoff (where the cast, host and musical guest all say goodbye to the audience and hug and chat), the country music singer gave his pleasantries to host Mikey Madison and then walked right off the stage:

Not long after, Morgan posted an Instagram story of his plane with the caption:
“Get Me To God’s Country.”
Which added fuel to the fire, so to speak, in terms of people thinking something had happened during the week that caused tension, especially considering Morgan had been the musical guest before, participated in a sketch, and stuck around during the credits to talk to the other cast and crew.

TMZ spoke to a source close to Wallen about the incident, who said that Morgan meant nothing by his exit and he “entered and exited” the studio the same way he did in rehearsal and camera blocking all week:
“We’re told he entered and exited the studio the same way he did Saturday night during rehearsal and camera blocking all week leading up to the live show… so he routinely headed that way when he thought it was time to go.”
People have been trying to get to the bottom of this whole thing for a while now, and one we heard theories about executive producer Lorne Michaels being rude, and other SNL cast members have spoken out about it, and according to Page Six, things weren’t exactly going well all week leading up to Saturday. They learned from a source that Morgan “declined” to be part of a sketch, and last-minute, they brought in pop star Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers to save the day, so to speak.
They claim that Morgan was “not super friendly” to others on set, and there was “no joy”:
“[Morgan] was asked but declined, so they got Joe instead. They had hopes he would do the pre-tape and perhaps more, but no joy.”
They added that Morgan “did what he was asked” by performing as the musical guest, but that was the extent of it, and it was apparently the same insider that shared the previous information about Morgan entering and exiting “the same way” at the end of the show as he did in rehearsals all week.
While several cast members spoke out about it, we hadn’t heard anything from Morgan about why he left the way he did, and Caleb asked him about it:
“Seriously, ‘SNL,’ did they make you mad?”
Morgan gave a very short and simple answer, saying he was simply “ready to go home” after being in New York City for rehearsals, and filming the show, all week:
“No, I was just ready to go home. I’d been there all week.”
There ya have it, folks. It sounds like Morgan pretty much enjoyed his time, and was just missing home… if there is more to the story, we’ll probably never know, and maybe Morgan will eventually appear on the show again as both sides continue to insist there is no bad blood.
