The ACM’s Awards just kicked off with Reba McEntire hosting once again, and it is streaming live exclusively on Prime Video from the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco. They’re celebrating the 60th anniversary of the show with a pretty good group of performers lined up, so that is something to look forward to if you’re tuning in. Reba already started with a Merle Haggard cover, so there’s an early win…
But for me, easily the most exciting part of these kinds of shows is seeing what everyone’s wearing (that says all you need to know about the overall entertainment value), so I think the red carper portion is more interesting and fun than anything else, and you can always count on Megan Moroney to bring it with a great look. and I know she’s obviously still young, but thus far in her country music career, she’s had no huge red carpet fashion misses and I always look forward to seeing her look.
And tonight, she channeled her inner Andie Anderson, from the classic 2003 romcom How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days Kate Hudson co-starred in alongside Matthew McConaughey, wearing a stunning yellow silk dress, perfectly accessorized with a diamond necklace and yellow stone. She frosted herself (IYKYK), and it’s gorgeous.
I think most girls around Meg’s age, myself included, still count that film as one of the all-time greats, and the scene at the end when she shows up to the party with that iconic yellow dress changed something in my young brain at the time, and I never really got over it:

Fans of course noticed and love her homage to the movie, but they also speculated about why she is wearing yellow instead of her signature blue, which was the color theme of her most recent album Am I Okay?, and the color she’s been wearing at every big event for a year now. Some seem to think she might have an album announcement soon, and that yellow will be the color of the next era:
