Could Riley Green be headed for a screen near you?
Not yet, but it doesn’t sound like he’s opposed to the idea. The steamy acting that we saw from Riley Green in his steamy “Worst Way” music video might have sparked his interest in acting.
We’ve seen many country stars make the crossover into acting, expanding their career into another creative outlet. Recently, Jelly Roll made his acting debut on the CBS series Fire Country, and of course, Lainey Wilson had her famed role as Abby in Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone.
Taylor Sheridan should keep his options open for his next cowboy series, as Riley Green might be a good fit. Green shared with 95.5 WTVY that he has been reading scripts and thinks that a pivot to acting could help his music career in the long run.
“We’ve actually kinda gone down that road a little bit. I’ve read for a couple of shows here lately. Not that I have a lot of time for it, but I think it is something that I would enjoy, and also something I think could help my music career.”
After Green said that he could see himself heading to the big screen, he used Lainey Wilson’s Yellowstone appearance as a prime example of how it helped the genre of country music as well as her own career.
“Doing ‘Yellowstone’ was a great launching pad for Lainey… and the country and western thing is becoming so popular through those shows that it’s really just such a great tie-in. I’m just glad that it’s helping out country music.”
Green has recently been having fun while on tour and while songwriting, giving his friends a show offstage, laying down hilarious impressions of high school coaches and a hotel front desk manager.
Fans ate up these takes, and they prove that he’s got the improv part of acting down, so maybe this is a viable next move for Green.
Green’s move in the “Worst Way” music video also highlighted his ability to get into character, bringing the hot and heavy lyrics to life as he proved to fans that he can embody Christian Grey, throwing his lady around. Maybe this music video wasn’t the best display of acting, particularly in terms of line delivery, but it does show that he can sell a story, and boy, did he sell it.
I know many of Riley Green’s fans would love to see him on their TV screens or in a movie theater, so I hope this comes to fruition.
If Green does end up on a TV show, those views will be through the roof, no matter what the content of the series is… the ladies would tune in for Duckman.
