Deer Crashes Through The Window Of Missouri Bar & Attempts To Jump Over The Counter: “Stop! Stop! Stop!”

We can now use “like a bull in a china shop” and “like a deer in a gin bar” interchangeably.

It’s hilarious to think that deer hunters often spend endless hours sitting in tree stands waiting for deer to walk by. It leads one to believe that the species is gifted at evading human contact. But then you have videos like these, where deer throw themselves into the face of danger, and that theory can be thrown out the window.

This young deer in Missouri got into a bit of trouble this past week when it inexplicably ran and jumped at full sprint speed into a restaurant’s front window. The Gin Room in St. Louis, Missouri would usually always welcome customers mad-dashing into their bar and eatery, but I’d bet they prefer for their door to be used for entrance… not their windows.

Security cameras first captured the wild incident, which showed the deer busting through the glass at high speed and chaotically landing inside the restaurant. The unexpected visitor – which came crashing through the window shortly after 11 a.m. local time – sent glass raining down all across the floor.

The disoriented deer continued to create chaos as it ran around inside the building, which caused one employee of The Gin Room to go out to the dining room to investigate. It was there where he found the deer panicking – trotting around, bumping into tables, and attempting to jump over the bar (for some reason). The person that captured the footage also provided this commentary:

“What the f**k? Holy sh*t. There is a deer in the dining room. Hi little fella… oh my God. Stop, stop, stop!”

Natasha Bahrami, The Gin Room’s owner, says that wild animal’s unusual escapade caused at least $2,000 in damage to the establishment. And if you were wondering how they got the deer back out of their restaurant and bar, they simply encouraged it to utilize the same strategy it used to get inside:

“Our chef helped it out of the same window. It suffered some minor cuts likely from the broken glass, but we think it should be okay. This is definitely one for the record books.”

It’s certainly a wild video. There’s just something about seeing a wild animal accidentally putting itself in a situation that’s out of the norm for them.

The good news is that the Gin Room decided to make the most of the incident, and basically turned the deer-dilemma into some intriguing advertising:

“A local deer just crashed the Gin Room – like, through the window. We always knew gin was wildly good, but we didn’t expect actual wildlife to break in before opening hours. This thirsty forest friend busted in like it had a rezzy for a negroni and no time to wait. Ran around, broke some bottles (rude), and left us all shook and slightly impressed.

Turns out, juniper isn’t just for humans. Deer love gin too—they just prefer it served with a side of chaos. We’re cleaning up and counting our blessings (and bottles), but don’t worry – we’ll be back pouring the good stuff faster than you can say ‘oh deer.'”
