Welp, time to cancel Anderson Cooper…
It’s no secret that the Democratic Party is in rough shape. They ousted a mentally-declining Joe Biden from the ticket and trotted Kamala Harris’ a** out there just to get taken to the woodshed by Donald Trump in the last election. Landslide victory, won every single swing state, and gained traction in a vast majority of counties… it was a massacre. And one would think that a blowout like that would prompt a hard look in the mirror from Democrats. Where did it all go so wrong?
And to be fair, some have. Stephen A. Smith (who is now talking about running himself in 2028), Bill Maher, former Chicago Mayor and Obama Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel, California Governor Gavin Newsom has a new podcast where he’s talking to some conservatives, even John Stewart at times… a number of left-leaning folks are calling for dramatic change in the party that has no real face, no real identity, no rockstars who can pose a formidable challenge to the future of the Republican party. Hell, I’m not entirely convinced that the Democrats have someone who could beat JD Vance in an election right now.
And yet, here we are just a few months later and some young, exciting senator with a fresh ideas and a new path forward is on the corporate news channel trying to drum up some conversation… oh wait, it’s 83-year-old, career politician and socialist, Bernie Sanders. And look, to me Bernie generally comes off as genuine guy who actually cares about giving a better life and opportunity to American citizens… only problem is that his solutions to achieving that are so radical and absurd that he’s impossible to actually take seriously. “Free everything and billionaires will pay for it” is the crux of his policy… guy sounds like he’s running for 8th grade class president.
So yesterday CNN hosted this live town hall with Senator Sanders, moderated by Anderson Cooper. The event took place in Washington, D.C., and featured a diverse studio audience comprising Democrats, Republicans, and Independents. During the town hall, Senator Sanders addressed questions on various topics, including the policies of the second Trump administration and the future direction of the Democratic Party.
Now, anyone with half a brain cell know that wokeness killed the party, identity politics killed the party, and much to the dismay of more moderate Democrats, you actually have some of these lunatics like AOC and Jasmine Crockett actually calling for MORE wokeness. They think the party should double down on the insanity if they want to regain control in Washington. Former Vice Presidential candidate Tim Walz actually said that they should’ve been BOLDER with DEI and immigration policy. By all means Tim, PLEASE be bolder in your stupidity… I welcome it.
Enter this question from last night and a hilariously wonderful clip that is going viral. I think I’ve watched this clip 100 times since last night, each time sweeter than the last. A local civil rights attorney and Democrat got the opportunity to ask Bernie Sanders a question and the entire exchange just so perfectly encapsulates the issues within the party, and the utter lack of self-awareness is just the icing on the cake.

How great is that? The look on Bernie’s face is priceless.
Of the course, the obvious the part is Anderson Cooper “misgendering” this woman, once again proving that you can never be woke enough for these people. Even someone like Anderson Cooper, a gay man who has arguably been the face of the liberal media for years, isn’t immune from these awkward interactions. It goes without saying that Anderson Cooper would never want to offend her, but like any sane person, refers to her as a “she,” and she immediately has to correct him as if her gender identity has anything to do whatsoever with the topic at hand or the questions she is gonna ask. All Anderson can do it let out an extremely uncomfortable “oh,” before she continues on with her question. And some people are now mad that he didn’t immediately apologize for misgendering her. I love watching these people eat their own… it’s just gold.
But for me, the part of this video that is actually incredible is not so much about Anderson Cooper, it’s about the question that she asks. We don’t see Bernie’s answer in this clip, but after she puts on her narcissistic gender pronoun show and corrects Anderson, she has the audacity to ask Bernie Sanders why men of all races and ages are fleeing the Democratic party in droves. Specifically, she says:
“Polling and turnout data indicate that men of all racial demographics are turning away from the democratic party, but of course white men in particular do not feel that the DNC’s messaging targets them and the issues that they care about. Should progressive campaigns craft policies and messaging to better encapsulate these voters, and if the answer is ‘yes,’ how to do they do so without abandoning marginalized voters of color and gender?”
Well Grace, it’s pretty simple actually….
YOU…. YOU ARE THE PROBLEM.
How do these people have such little self-awareness that they literally demonstrate the answer to the question… in the same sentence! It’s baffling. Don’t get me wrong, I love watching these people dig their own graves, but how do you not realize that the average American man isn’t on board with the hyper-woke nonsense? Bernie of course acknowledged that people have different points of view on social issues, but generally agree on economic issues, and quickly changed the topic to address those more agreeable (and important) issues like healthcare. Completely avoided the question because the answer is so obvious, and Grace wouldn’t like it.
He finished up by calling out CNN for not tackling actual issues (which also implies that Grace’s question was stupid), and it was actually pretty refreshing to hear him do so.
